2022 Season Ticket Thread

For the life of me, I don’t know why they keep giving us scarves. I get that football clubs around the world do it cause they play fall to spring, but MLS is primarily a spring/summer league and it makes no sense. If you want to do an item that switches every year, do a tshirt, or a baseball cap… yes the cap could piss off those who hate the Yankees affiliation/stadium situation but at least it makes sense.

Supporters wear scarves
Whenever I’m at matches, I see far more folks without scarves than with. I know there’s a good chunk of supporters that still wear scarves, but it feels like a waste compared to the number of fans that wear Hats or T-shirts.
Of course the best option would be to produce both and let us choose…

I am beyond expecting something fabulous in the box - especially after a year or two where attendance has faced obstacles.
However, if there will be yet another scarf, someone has to make sure it isn't a scaerf. Dude Wipes makes for jokes, and the JERSEY!?!?#&$*!!! is not my personal style, but I can understand the reasoning for both. The scaerf is embarrassing and bordering on insulting to some of the most loyal supporters.
Not to overstate, but I will be disappointed if they do not acknowledge the issue and just ignore it.

i wouldn't hold your breath. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they acknowledge and offer STHs a replacement scarf at the stadium for pick up.

Yes. And personally, I don't wear them and I have most sitting in my closet unopened/unused, but scarves are soccer specific, so it makes sense to include them either for use or as a keepsake. You can't please everyone with hats, trinkets, etc., so go with what you would expect to receive from a soccer club. I don't even think they need to include anything else - just a fun, bright box that is really just a sign that the season is about to start, and the tickets or at this point the ticket card. As a bonus, I am sure many/most of us put the boxes to good use for assorted storage purposes. The typo was not a good look, it's a shame to mess up the easy stuff.
The problem is not the concept of a scarf, it’s the scarf every single year thing. You can’t make everyone happy all the time, but they seem to have found the recipe for making some people unhappy all the time.
A t-shirt one year wouldn’t kill anyone…
The club/vendor can't spell member correctly, imagine them trying to administer varying size requests

Supporters do wear scarves. But most supporters that have season memberships have scarves of much higher quality than the summer weight, plastic feel scarves received in the membership box.
I am not sure if they conduct focus groups or send surveys regarding the membership box, but there are far better options than what has been included - for all cost levels. Items such as a quarter-zip or a soccer ball may be too large or costly, but there are far better choices than Spider-man.
Send a scarf as a traditional item, but make it better quality. If costs are high, then A) send only one scarf per box, regardless of the number of seats, or B) send fewer items (I won't miss the stickers).
Send a pin (or two). Every box has had a pin, and it is an affordable and small item that can be a customary box item
To spread the brand, send items that will see use OUTSIDE of the stadium and not in the stadium. Scarves may be traditional, but anyone that sees mine is already at the game. I understand that the pandemic has affected life patterns, but people still go to the office or ride the subway. What about:
-coffee mug
-mouse pad (unless everyone but me has a work laptop these days)
-water bottle
-pen
-key clip, holder, carabiner
None of the above would break the bank. Other than the mug, all should be easy to ship, and all would get more use (and more visibility) than a confusing sticker. Or, just send me tickets and not a box that will be refuse in a few days. If you're reading intern, I am available to design 2023's box at a lower cost and for more use.
Maybe this was a good out of bad moment in that this allows them to provide a championship item, which they probably couldn't do initially with the lack of lead time.

the card note from Brad in the package already mentioned "championship gate giveaways" throughout the season. so i guess they were already planning to give something away?
