True story - earlier in the day, my kid's travel team's goalkeeper hurt his hand and the coach came on to see if he was okay. Even though the goalie was fine, the kid reffing the game made the goalkeeper come off the field, and the substitute, who isn't nearly as good, gave up the winning goal.
I was screaming about why does the Atlanta player get different treatment than my kid's U12 goalie. Consistency is all we ask!
Most of the game to me is a blur now to be honest. I only remember the big moments in the match: the ATL overturned goal, the ATL goal, Isi finger being broken, NYCFC disallowed goal.
Well, the U12 referee was not following proper protocol. A goalkeeper does not have to go off the field after receiving treatment. Therefore, a susbstitution did not have to be made.
