Atlanta - Postmatch - Eastern Conference Semifinals Leg 1

if we finish 1-1 NYC wins, where now it goes to Extra Time. That's the only scenario where the away goal is relevant contrasted to an ATL home goal.

If the match in ATL finished 1-1 we lose on 1-2 aggregate. 1-0 takes it to ET, where we would have won 1-0 on aggregate is it was 0-0 at home. But I still like that we have to go balls out from the get go.

But we lose your scenario because Atlanta scored an extra goal, not because they led on Away goals. As I said, "Finally, the Away goal doesn't matter really, except as a goal." That's also why my comparison was to a hypothetical scenario in which there is a 0-0 first leg followed by ATL goal in the first minute of leg 2. Then Leg 2 is in the exact same situation for 89 minutes except the ATL goal is home not away, and the only difference there is in a 1-1 finish. Atlanta's goal matters, of course. It just doesn't (hardly) matter that they scored it away.

What was with Jo Inge not using his head on that cross in the 6?

After watching Waka Flocka chronicle his every move to his millions of social media followers, I was wondering if we are missing out on the benefits of celebrity supporters. Among the variety issues that hurt our support numbers is fact that most people don’t know we exist. If we had some stars who were actual fans, the millions of views could only help. At worst we get some more exposure.

How does Callens get a red last year and LGP doesn’t? Consistency is all we ask for.

You must be new to MLS. Consistency doesn’t exist here.

Corollary: Playing Atlanta, the game is called differently against them then against you.

We haven’t won one this year. If I’m calculating this right, this season we are 0-3-2 on turf.
All the more reason to play a kid like lewis who has experience on turf. And berget does too.

I've told him on multiple occasions that I'd pay his fines for talking about the referees. There isn't a problem unless you acknowledge there is a problem.
relax, bighead. we get it you sit next to the benches. enough with this.

There was an instance late in the first half where an ATL player went down for nearly three minutes, the trainers came on, etc...and then the ATL player didn’t even leave the field, just popped up and went right back at it. How is this possible? LionNYC LionNYC did you see this?

It doesn’t change the outcome, but just one more instance of the ref catering to ATL’s physical/stop-start play.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I was yelling in 238 about how that player needed to come off. Not sure why that didn't happen.

And in another instance of something that had no effect on the outcome, the whistle was blown at 2'52" of stoppage time on my stopwatch when a minimum of 3 was announced. This point here is probably extremely nit-picky and again, I realize it really didn't affect the outcome, but it was still very annoying.

Hmm, I remember Greg Garza being down on the far corner near 1st base and the medical staff came on. He didn't need attention but the referee signaled for him to stay off the field even after NYCFC made a substitution. He was allowed on about 10 seconds after the throw in.

Yeah, that was after the first incident. I remember both and was screaming about the first one.

True story - earlier in the day, my kid's travel team's goalkeeper hurt his hand and the coach came on to see if he was okay. Even though the goalie was fine, the kid reffing the game made the goalkeeper come off the field, and the substitute, who isn't nearly as good, gave up the winning goal.

I was screaming about why does the Atlanta player get different treatment than my kid's U12 goalie. Consistency is all we ask!
