Authentic Jersey

What do you think of the quality of the jersey (authentic versus replica)?

They're both shitty quality, imho. The fabric feels scratchy. Didn't think the authentic would be this bad, but it is what it is. I am happy to see that the stripes on the away or just the materiel woven in a different way, and not some vinyl crap.

Also, why aren't they selling the authentic jersey on the online shop (they are just selling the replica one right?)

Seems like the NYCFC shop sold out of the authentics.

Absolutely. Most people are fans of multiple sports. I am probably a bigger hockey fan than I am a soccer fan. Hell, a lot of people (like myself) are fans of multiple teams. I am from California and San Jose Sharks and Quakes have always been my teams. I recently moved to NYC and have adopted NYCFC (obviously) and NY Islanders. I've been supporting Spurs since it was announced that NBC would get all PL matches.

Sometimes I wish that the US (like most of the world) had one sport that really dominated over everything else. It creates a pretty interesting culture. But ultimately I think it is MUCH better to have multiple, top leagues in every sport to watch.
Why did you choose spurs and not city is their an anti city feeling around nycfc ?

Personally, I'm a big sports fan in general. Follow the Yankees, Rangers (NY), Knicks, Arsenal and now NYCFC. I don't like football, too boring for me.

One of my sons is a huge Chelsea fan (the other one is a die-hard Arsenal fan ... yes family reunions are tough)....and he knows I support NYCFC and yet he has a hard time coming around because of NYCFC's ownership by Man City. Obviously, you have no issue supporting both Chelsea and NYCFC. How should I encourage my son to support NYCFC?
You know, it is a bit of a bummer that Man City is so involved but I think/hope over time NYCFC will develop its own identity. I flat out refuse to wear the home jersey until it changes from the mini Man City one. I love the away jersey (best in the league) and plan on wearing that until something else comes along. There is also a lot of navy blue gear that doesnt look like its connected to Man City. I think that once the NYCFC season starts up I will forget all about the Man City connection and still have a good time cheering for both them and Chelsea.

Why the hate for city mate .would you be happy if cfg had not taken you on.
You do realise the power the owners have and you will end up with the best facilities, best players and will certainly go on to be the number1 team in us soccer ? Is that not what you want ?

We have had this discussion with dozens of man city fans. Go back and wade through the hundreds of posts on all the subjects you want to debate in the Frank threads. You may or may not be trying to get a rise out of us natives, but all this has been covered ad nauseum.

No rise intended just passing the time of day after an eye op.
After watching city for ,45 years its nice to have another team to follow from the start so no glory hunting .involved enjoyed the match against bronby and thought your players were a credit to themselves and the club how they were after the match ,certainly 100% better attitude than EPL players.
Got a nice team sheet signed by 18 players the manager and Claudio reyna

Why would you not want to show your support for a player as well as for your club? My favorite players gain that status through what they do on and off the field. By wearing their name and number I demonstrate that I admire their work effort as an athlete and their integrity as a person. I show the club that I value what that player brings to the team and the community. As an individual I am more likely to wear the jersey of one of the more "workingman" players. Humbleness, dedicated work ethic, good attitude, positive role model, appreciation for the gift and opportunity you have been given, these are the things that earn you a spot on my back.
It is very telling that in the UK this would be seen as a reason for mockery and derision. But then again you have always been a very emotionally twisted lot when it comes to folks who have risen above the rabble. Like you said, "build em up and knock em down". It reminds me of the nobility wearing thread-worn suits so they don't attract attention to their status.
It should be okay to be successful but don't let it ruin you as a person. :D

Hey, so I just got off the phone with the people on the Online Store. My authentic away jersey still hadn't shipped, and I kept hammering them why it was taking so long.

Apparently, they're out of "X" letters. So no Mix jerseys. How they didn't play for that when the Authentic Jerseys were pre-orders, I have no idea. But they're not getting shipped out in time for the game, and they won't let you switch to a blank Authentic.

I was able to get expedited shipping and a small discount for the issue, but it sounds like it's an absolute mess. (Man, why can't anything with this club not be a mess?)

I don't think there is a general anti Man City feeling (... it is just that many fans formed their EPL allegiances long before NYCFC existed and so EPL preferences are all over the map.) On the contrary, we are all behind NYCFC and are glad Man City is supporting the club state-side!

There's a run on "Xs" and "Vs" SOL

Have them put "Diskerud" for free and send it now.

Yeah we like to build people up and when they are successful we try to destroy them.its a British thing !
At city the kids go for the showy superstar players on their shirts aquero/ Silva read villa/mix /lampard
If adults did have names on their shirts it is the players they admire as you describe humblemen not the best player but more the best all round dedicated players at the club.players that earn respect as people not prima Donna's

Woooow that is dumb.

Still find this very strange that a grown up wants to put another blokes name on his back.in the UK you would get the piss taken out if you if you did that
Just sayin like
english people also think they have a good national team, thats a whole other story though... thanks.

I have met the chairman of city several times and you couldn't meet a nicer person.I asked why they had taken over city when they could of taken over any team in the world and he explained they wanted to create the best team in the world and not just finance an existing winning team.this is what they will do with nycfc you will be the biggest and best in USA that's a certainty.
I do wander do your fans know how much power the ownners have even in your country what they control.
Your future is very bright

Sorry your wrong there mate most think the national team is absolutely crap and have very little interest in it .
The EPL is full of imported players and its hard to put out a national team that would beat a pub team

Yeah, I've got to agree. 10 years ago - perhaps even 5 or 6 - this was the case, but there's a massive pessimism about the England team now. Most fans have simply given up believing we will ever be a good international team again, and the national support among the diehard club fans is increasingly turning to serious calls for the FA to withdraw from international football and replace the int'l breaks with even more club football games.

What a mess. Honestly, what a Mickey Mouse production. How can they not have enough Xs??????? And the fact that they couldn't change you to a blank just tells me they have no idea how to server customers.
