Frank Lampard Loan Extension

I'm largely going by what I saw tonight. You don't think that's a reasonable indicator at all?
Yeah, we're all burying our world class mid who will link up with our strikers and control the midfield before a single match has been played. As a New Yorker all I can say to that is

Maybe you will be proven right and believe me you don't have to be in NY to know what a great, proud city it is. However a few weeks ago some people were talking about giving up season tickets over the shirt. They quickly calmed down and while this may cause more annoyance people tend to say things in the heat of the moment. If people were going to protest over Lampard there will be a group of Third Railers and assorted fans down at NYCFC HQ tomorrow. I just can't see that happening but maybe a definitive 100% answer will bring backlash.

As I've said recently I think NYCFC fans would be extremely justified in complaining.

Oh goodness. Can you refuse the man the opportunity to play for glory in his home? He'll be here when he's ready to be here. You can't restrict what he wants.

Again if Frank wanted to play in the pl he should have signed there. We could have signed a DP that's committed to this club and that would be here from opening day. We would have built marketing on him and Villa in our very first ever season and he wouldn't be making us look like fools just to crash and burn in the CL and end up 2nd at best in the league.

Dude, he signed with NYCFC. Let me repeat that, he SIGNED with NYCFC. Everything else is irrelevant. His main priority is to NYFC, not MCFC, not EPL, not anything else. He needs to be with his team.

I would agree, I think Lamps wants to stay in England for sometime. I don't think it's to slight us here but it's because of City's title chances. Maybe if MCFC lose on Wednesday in Champions League he'll change his mind.

This. I feel it comes down to that, but if they also slip up in the league another game or two this month, then would make it easier for him to come when he was supposed to come.

I'm not showing up for opening day if Lampard is not there. Not because I care that much to see Frank live, but just on principle. They are essentially saying that Manchester City's season is more important than ours by extending his stay.

I'm starting to wish MLS went with an ownership not affiliated with anyone. There was always this risk of getting middle child status.

I seem to remember at Lampard's unveiling/presser either Kreis or Reyna dropped the hint that Lampard would be the 1st captain of NYCFC. I think that must be up in the air now. It should be David Villa. That guy has said all the right things, has been at the fan events and, by all accounts, seems to be 100% committed to this club. He's also the first ever player and DP so he has the seniority too (if only by a few weeks). Hell, I'd prefer Jeb Brovsky to be captain before Lampard at this point.
