I am not sure how they calculated that either, but they need to rethink Mexico in 10th and MLS in 29th.thought this was interesting. not sure how opta calculates their power ranking average though. didn't seem obvious and i didn't go looking.

And how is Philly so far ahead of the MLS pack?I am not sure how they calculated that either, but they need to rethink Mexico in 10th and MLS in 29th.
The Union have the most points in MLS over the last 1.5 seasons. Also the last 2.5, 3.5,4.5, 5.5, and 6.5 seasons (2017 to present). More than LAFC, more than us. Go back to 2016 and NYCFC leads. But the Union have been remarkably and consistently good for a long while now, even though they only won a single Shield in a short season. I don't know how many seasons this ranking includes or how they are weighted. And how is Philly so far ahead of the MLS pack?
I think he's a better manager than Nick Cushing. Portland has had major problems stemming from their toxic ownership, and I'd be willing to bet a new setting would get Savarese back to winning consistently. He also got some New York (and Jersey) experience, which I think would help us overall with attracting young, local talent.why? he couldn't bring portland back from the ashes and he was given a pretty long leash as they didn't perform that well last year either and missed the playoffs.

He doesn't strictly play the City way, and IIRC, he left RBNJ because of philosophy differences. Perhaps he wouldn't be a good fit, but I'd love to have a guy who has MLS experience and isn't using this gig to go back to Europe in a year and a half.Doesn't he not play the "City way?" I think he'd fit right in at the Red Bulls, but not sure he'd fit in here. Plus we haven't gone for an American coach since Kreis, I get the sense if Nick gets fired they're going to stay overseas and find a CFG coach from their network.
