General MLS Discussion

It’s also documented that Florida sports fans are usually very fickle about Florida sports. If the are playing well, people show up, if they are playing poorly, most everyone leaves. I know this has been the case for other sports like baseball and football, but I’m not sure it also correlates with soccer. I think it has a lot to do with Florida’s population of people coming from other places, specifically retirees who continue to watch what used to be their local team and will tune in to the Florida teams when they are playing well because they are retired and have a lot of time on their hands.
I think there was a hope that a newer team in a newer league wouldn't have this problem. Florida has been growing so long that it has a substantial base of people now who grew up there, compared to the 1970s or even 1990s. Realistically, how many OCSC fans used to be Revs, RB, or Union fans? I expect not many compared to the Heat or Rays and other NBA or MLB teams.
But it could just be a culture thing that has become an endemic problem with Florida pro sports. They also compete with college sports in a way that the Northeast does not. Even schools like UCF near Orlando is becoming a pretty big sports school.

Supposedly Arsenal asked them not to play him.
I guessed that was probably the case. Still, mildly amusing and odd.

He didn't play at all in June (for the Revs), and the Revs had a few games during the break. But he was with the NT. So why come back for this game if not to appear? But not my problem.

There's video of him refusing to sign a shirt for a fan in a Spurs kit after the match. I'm thinking it was what in wrestling they call " a work" but who knows?

Latest reporting says that the contract is for 12 months at non-DP salary, with a player option for the following 18 months that would be at a DP level.

super smart by bale.

he's so rich he doesn't care about the money. this way he can continue playing right up until the world cup, go the world cup, and then basically cruise out the rest of his contract and retire (if he chooses). no 2nd half of the season after the world cup to worry about. no pressures of european soccer fandom/media.

philly loses playing their first pick XI. Seattle also lost with almost their top XI. wild results this season!

LAFC maintaining top form. they are definitely SS favorites now if they don't hit any slumps. 8 points ahead of us with one extra game.

Cringe lmao, don't change MLS (but please do, of course)

Somehow, if we win our game in hand, we'll only be 5 points off of LAFC. Which is crazy to think about because you'd think we were farther back.
... Had we won yesterday, we would only be potentially 2 points off. Is what it is, though.
