Jack Harrison to Manchester City - Official

Could this have been thier plan all along?I'm wondering if they went through the negotiations with Stoke (or other teams?) to determine a reasonable fair market value. That way when they put the purchase through there would be less blow back from the league.
If that was the case, they were pretty stupid playing hardball with Stoke.

I love this post. It's absurd and, at the same time, entirely possibly with this f'ing club

What I find interesting is that Man City apparently rates Harrison enough that they will pay the kind of price that's been kicked about for the chance to loan him out and develop him further.

This part of the deal makes total sense to me. Jack's a good investment opportunity, especially if he's given playing time in England. NYCFC would love to sit on him if Jack were willing to stick around (he's not) and the club could afford to risk millions if his development stalled (they can't). For Man City the downside is cheap and there's no ticking clock on the upside, so why not loan him out and see what happens?

As for every other part of the MLS-MCFC-NYCFC love triangle, it all feels weird and icky and like it'll probably end Jules et Jim–style.

I am OK with this if Jack wants out. I am not OK with this Man City saga if Jack is comfortable waiting 6 months to a year.

Frankly, if we are selling him, I could give a shit where he goes. Whatever helps the club the most. Seems likely that would be from the club with the same ownership, given the poo offers elsewhere.

How can you actually care? He’ll never play for city any more than Mix will. It’s all business, fellas. Grasp that, and stop sweating the appearances of any of it.

Team missing an o are cheap asses on capital expenditures. City has money to burn for it. They are buying annuities, dudes. It ain’t hard to figure out.

Do you think Patrick Roberts will ever play for City?

I don't think it's insane to think that what's best for Harrison is also what's best for the club. In the sense that if his career takes off, it makes coming to NYCFC a more attractive option for future prospects.

To the extent that I give a shit, that is the shit I give.

Thats semantics. Again, so who gives a shit where he goes? Not you. Not me. Not anyone, really .

Eta: nothing you say disputes my stance. I hope he does get what's best for him. But I give far less shits about that than what is good for NYC .

I see your autocorrect is also inserting spaces before periods, so I'm not crazy .

But will eventually become so .

Anyway, not disagreeing with you, just trying to assert the compatibility of your position with mine and perhaps many of the posts on the board that you appeared to be disagreeing with. (no period there?)

Uniting rather than dividing, if you will . Lol .

Interesting. Guess it’s fixed now.

Maybe?

Sucks to see him go.

I'm sure this is has been addressed at some point, but for the increase in GAM that is coming, if they structure the transfer fee to say be paid half now and half in 2019, would NYCFC get 750K in additional GAM this and then another 750K (or whatever the number) next year?

Why would we get 2 hits of GAM for one transfer?
