MLS Cup Playoffs - November 21 - Atlanta (Home)

curious if anybody knows anything about injury status.

luckily we have over a week to rest and recover. but we had morales come off injured and chanot was not looking great at the end. sands also had a cramp maybe? not sure. morales is not in the team pic on talles' twitter feed.

hope nothing too serious. we can't afford to lose more dmids and a cb.

i also just realized we will have gideon back for the revs.

Just came by to say I don’t see Morales in this photo.

He looked terrible when he came off. I don’t know what happened either. Martinez hit him somehow but i can’t tell exactly how.

Yea. for him not to be celebrating with the rest of the guys means it is serious enough that he had to stay seated or is already in some kind of medical diagnosis. not good.

What a blast that was. Haven't had a chance to attend games this year, and the atmosphere was so fun. I was in Delta club right next to the Atlanta supporters, and fans were still plenty engaged over there. Great atmosphere.

First half performance was pretty awful, but we were dominant in the second half. Fluky Taty goal, but it's about time we get a bounce. We'll need to be much better in New England, but for now this was super fun.

Maxi, BTW, was outstanding today. He is the most important player on our roster. When he's going, he unlocks everything for us.

If you have a chance to rewatch after the match right when the game ende. A camera man panned around on the field with players talking to one another, I remember another player (maybe sands) going up to Alfredo afterwards and asking how he was and he touched with looked like a huge bump on the back of his head but nodded saying he was okay. It did not look very good and I’m curious if he got a minor concussion/head injury. Those can give you a major headache and I’m sure being around his yelling teammates celebrating would hurt like a mf-er.

Is SJ okay? Saw on Reddit a poster said he threw his gloves down after the match and the medical team tended to him
Yeah, Johnson was on the ground for a bit after the match with medical team looking after him. Good thing we play on Tuesday with a few more days of rest.

I was at the game so didn’t see the tv coverage but there’s a post-match interview up and he seems ok?
The national broadcasters asked him how he was feeling and mentioned that he didn’t look good after the whistle blew, all he said is that he got hit running into Chanot but that he would be fine by next game

Can’t believe it was 25,000. Maybe 20 yes. Certainly seemed like the largest crowd.

The food is now an embarrassment. Gone so downhill. Even the hot dog rolls are stale.

Maxi my man of the match. Taty was good. Thought Santi was terrific. Medina is a coward. Can’t stand him. So soft. Morales…his best game of the season. Sands was OK. You could tell Malte was asked to sit back some. Certainly seems more comfortable as a LWB. Gray must have been told to sit deep. Lots of possession up the left it looked like. And gray stayed in a back three? Don’t know if the stats matched that up. Think he was good defensively for the most part. Not smart or comfortable with the ball. Johnson did what he needed to do and came up big.

Did I hear that Parks is out for the year and Tinny had a setback in the postgame??

Post-match press conference with Ronny is up online. He comments on the atmosphere: “something I will remember the rest of my life. Really really special.”

There is no away trip in MLS or even in all of American professional sports quite like going to Yankee stadium. Gonzalo Pineda referred to the feeling of playing there as “twisted” due to the disorientation one feels with the awkward way in which the pitch sits inside a baseball ground. And if that isn’t tricky enough, then you have the obvious: that the pitch itself is extremely narrow and requires specific tactical planning. So much so, in fact, that Pineda revealed last week that the team is training on practice fields painted to its exact dimensions.

It's so funny how teams just completely fall apart on our field, which is 110x70 and regulation size.

I firmly believe that if we ever do get our own stadium, we should absolutely make the pitch 110x70. Even though I remain convinced the issue opponents have is with the weird angle of the stands in relation to the field, if it freaks teams out this much, we should keep it forever. Six losses at Yankee Stadium since the middle of 2016. It's a fortress.

If anyone has taped the game, go to 36:35 and watch the resulting NYCFC throw in. Brooks Lenon of Atlanta while outside of the field raises his arms to block the ensuing throw in. Nothing was called by the referees. How the hell is that not a yellow card?
