I'm outside in my backyard having cigar and watching City v Spurs on the laptop.
I'm freezing my nuts off. It's gonna be a 🥶 cold evening in Queens. woof.

Hoodie, coat, scarf, and hat kind of night.

Please, MLS, please don't go to a winter schedule.

If you are that cold you aren't screaming and cheering enough to be warm 😂

I was in New England for the 2021 playoff game where it was 32 degrees. I had every piece of winter clothing. After Taty's goal in extra time I had to peel layers off because I began to sweat.

I expect to be similar levels of nutjob tonight. Hope no one is embarrassed by the lunatic in Section 107.

Thermals top and bottom, long sleeve tee, waffle shirt, thick turtleneck sweater, serious Patagonia ski jacket, scarf, gloves, hat. Debating bringing a blanket. Can’t be too warm.

That is horrific in a capped league.

This is the result the league wanted to keep RB relevant. Don't know why this wasn't the marquee game of the round. It didn't get the Twellman/Zivin announcers but the ex-RB guy.

Refereeing was spotty. Let a lot go. Offside on the 2nd goal? No handball on multiple times in the box to benefit us. How did RB only get one yellow? To save their guys for the next round?

Flat earthers rejoice that Tolkin won.

We won the xG by 2.6 net. That’s just, bruh

Mostly outplayed them. Lost to a wonder goal that a nobody will ever score again and a goal that I thought at first glance was offside. The first goal was undeserved and changed the game

We struggled to score all year except when pressing against teams trying to advance.
When opponents get a 2-0 lead they shut down and force us to play build up soccer, so conceding a banger and a pinball corner was death.
RB fully turned off the second half and choked us, and we could not finish.
We have 2 people who can put the ball in the net and if they go cold, it's death.
Santi and Martinez were cold tonight.
$10+ million in strikers sat on the bench.

well that was very disappointing.

haak had a monster game. everyone else was kinda bang average.

wonder goal and the 2nd goal was parks being lazy to come out with the rest of the defenders. he was onside for sure so there wasn't anything close about it, imo.

to be fair to red bulls, they defended very well and we couldn't finish to save our life. martinez in front of the box before the half was a sitter that he would normally finish but fluffed it tonight.

maxi couldn't come up with anything. santi often held the ball too long and made poor decisions. parks made a lot of poor decisions.

sending on cold players who have barely gotten minutes all season thinking they are going to rescue you is just... i dunno what to say. it's just not good.

whatever happens, let the red bulls crash out next round. i can't bear to see them in a cup final.

I'm still wondering about that second goal. If Keaton played Vanzeir on, it was by a smidgin.

We were good tonight, though. Not as good as against Tigres (our match of the year, and a sign of things to come), but we certainly didn't gag or wobble. It just didn't go our way.

But I'm excited for the next campaign, and the campaign after that. It's really hard to be patient and take the long view, especially since there's always the chance David and Nick and the organization have it all wrong and we really have blown the fees and lost the opportunities the last few windows have accorded us.

I don't think that's the case. There are only so many minutes to go around, and we're too talented to tank an entire season for the sake of giving the kids on-the-job experience. And we know that, because we were among the last four teams standing in the Eastern Conference.

I believe what we saw this year was a team which executed the last step of a flying transition. The next step is to fully integrate all the moves.

In the meantime, I'm damn proud of our guys.
