Important win! White was an utter abomination. Drogba apparently has carte blanche to do whatever he wants without repercussion. The refereeing didn't help matters.

Parts of the match were eerily similar to last week's game, but NYCFC was more efficient when needed and picked it up when necessary.

another great road win. We are the kings of giving up soft goals due to our suspect CBs and Saunders which I think will be our downfall in the playoffs but lets ride this road wave as long as we can. Great job by villa running hard for the 90 mins. Pirlo another subtle but great game. What can you say about Jack? He has been a breath of fresh air. Overall great road win. Lets get three points in Jersey!

White was very bad. The ref was atrocious. One of the worst reffed games I have seen in a long time.

At the start, it looked like we were going to get smoked. We had no real possession, we were turning it over like Vinny Testeverde and just looked sloppy overall. Had Montreal not been playing musical chiars with their roster lately due to injuries/suspensions, they likely would have been more cohesive and we would have been exposed badly.

Bottomline, Ethan White is worse than Mikey Lopez. Mikey Lopez does not belong in an MLS match and it pains me to see him coming onto the field.

Bottomerline, we won so who gives a fuck let's get drunk!

Give us a toast Midas Mulligan Midas Mulligan

Mikey Lopez, just wow....I just don't get how this kid is even in our team, much less getting important minutes. Holy shit is he bad. Ethan White will be out of the league in a couple of years, and playing with the great american soccer team that is the Cosmos, or so they say.

That is exactly what I was alluding too. Drogba should have been gone with either two yellows or a straight red for that second careless challenge on Iraola.

Maybe the MLS Disciplinary Committee will take a look at the second one and institute a post-match ban on Drogba...*invisible hand slaps me for such silly thinking*.

Yeah and pigs might fly out of my butt.

Here's to you and here's to me,
May we never disagree.

But if we do, fuck Lopez and white.
Here's to three points, at least for tonight.

And now, my actual analysis, fuck Lopez and White.

Lopez had our two best tackles though. It's just that one was on Lampard as he had a clear goal. (eta: On second look, that last part is not true, unless I was thinking of something I no longer recall.)

Lopez, like Jeb last year, should not be paid to play footy. He should only get time when he books it at Chelsea piers with his zog sports indoor league. He is a damn hatchet man and nothing more.

I didn't mind the inclusion of Lopez. I think PV saw us getting manhandled and figured he could use Lopez to add more physicality to our midfield. Probably wanted Mikey to go in hard on Drogba if the opportunity presented itself. Walking yellow cards do have their purpose in football.

I love our bizarre win formula.
  1. Gorgeous goal by Jack.
  2. Solid goal by Villa.
  3. Freaky goal by Lampard.
  4. Pirlo/Iraola get hacked by the opposition with few calls in support by the ref.
  5. Defense messes up repeatedly with turnovers and breakdowns but does not break too much.
It's exactly what PV envisioned back in January.

Trust in PV indeed. White looked like a chump most of the game but on the other hand Mena looked great defensively. All around decent game. To 3 more points next weekend at RBA!!

His name is Slosh. SloshvSaunders. Because when the ball comes to him, it's going to slosh around the box a bit.

I realized after dubbing him this, there's a darker side to this nickname that I didn't intend to call to mind. But I'm not going to back off a good nickname just because of that.

Good win, that. I think we won because they didn't seem to want to. We gifted them a goal, they gifted us two and the match was won by a piece of magic by Super Jack Harrison.

Two assists from Tommy Mac too! #legend.

Saunders gets a 7. One of his best all around games.

Mena gets a 7. Probably his best game in an NYCFC uniform. His tackle that gave up a dangerous free kick was a result of laziness and that pisses me off.

Brillant gets an 8. Consistently consistent.

White gets a 4. Doesn't deserve to be out there.

Allen gets a 5. He's looked like crap the last couple of weeks playing wide left.

Iraola gets a 7. Played well offensively. Didn't think he was great defensively in this game.

Pirlo gets a 7.

Lampard gets a 6. I don't think he was great today.

McNamara gets a 5. He's been invisible.

Harrison gets a 7. He had an up and down game I think. At times he tries doing too much. Looks like he is trying to find a rhythm on the wing. Beautiful goal.

Villa gets a 9 and MOTM. Fantastic game today.

Lopez gets a 4. That was the wrong substitute. Mikey has a very defined role on this team. Him coming in to play the 6 in place of Iraola pissed me off. He's awful in possession and has no size. He's best used as Lampard's caddy chasing the game from the #10 role when we have a lead.

Bravo gets an N/A. I thought he should have replaced Iraola. He's much better on the ball than Lopez and is a physical force in front of the CBs. I think we settled down when he came in and Lopez moved up the field.

Mullins gets an N/A
