NYCFC Social Media Thread

Giovinco (twice), Cyle Larin, and Brenner

ETA: It's crazy that BWP never did it
Wikipedia MLS stats doesn't include playoffs and thus why Giovinco is only noted once.

What's even crazier is what we've never lost a match (in regular season) when a player scored a hat trick against us. Giovinco and Brenner, 4-4 ties. Larin, 5-3 win for us.

Someone with the handle NYCFC Fan posted this on Mastodon. It's just a little puff piece from across the pond, but I got a kick (har har) out of them putting soccer in quotes in the headline:

Interesting episode here from Glenn and Roberto. The last half hour or so was an interview with David Lee where he made some interesting points about roster construction and the likelihood of anything big happening (or not, to be more precise) in the summer window.

Nothing definitive about Talles Magno. But that's not surprising.

Anyone else notice how the main Twitter/X account (@newyorkcityfc) is now posting things in both English and Spanish? The club basically dropped it's Spanish-only account (@NYCFCEspanol)

I noticed as well. The Spanish account stopped posting about a month ago, but for a while before then all it did was post Abramowitz game previews. The Spanish posts on the main account started in the last week and I was wondering if it was for Leagues Cup or if it will continue. I'm guessing it will keep going but TBD.

Got excited to see Perea back in training (0:06) but he doesn't show up in the rest of the training. So, probably just joining for conditioning and stuff. At least it means he's getting closer to returning? hopefully won't be much longer.

Mark Booth farewell.

He stopped putting out material under his name about 2 years ago, and took his Twitter account private at least for a while. But he always remained on the team front office roster. It was a bit of a mystery apparently all was and is good. On the other hand he's not saying what he's up to next, so....

wasn't sure where to put this... but for anybody who didn't know:

Okay, you have the player that scored the first goal, the first homegrown goal, the current team leading goal scorer this season, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th all time. Pirlo only had one. Heber might have been better in there. But the removal of David Villa is still upsetting to me. He's still part of the club's history for better or worse.

We don't have to celebrate the bad though. Do you want them making Red Wedding anniversary posts too?
