Ranking all 50 MLS DPs in 2016

Where do you agree or disagree? Villa was 6th, which I thought was low. But I'm not sure there is a good case for putting him above anyone in the top 5, except arguably Klejstan.

Agreed on kljestan. Weird list. How is Pirlo behind Lampard? And how is Pirlo behind Bradley? Altidore and Bradley are WAY too high. Accam stands out as someone ranked way too low. You have to take into account the team that the guy is playing on. And that applies to Villa too. We struggled getting him the ball some games, and he still produced.

(Update: Villa has won the MVP award for 2016, an award that was voted on after the regular season but before playoffs. There was already a bit of controversy about other names, like Giovinco, not being included as an MVP finalists, but taking into account how playoffs went, Villa's case for MVP looks even weaker, even as he was one of the league's best DPs.)

The crying over Giovinco not being included is pretty corny. He won it last year. The award clearly isn't about the best player in the league necessarily. Furthermore, it's not a fan vote. The very people that create the product that we watch do the voting!

Well I Guess the best thing about my Andrea is his Jersey selling the most ? So should we be like Hell Yeah ? or like What The Fuck???!!!:confused::confused::confused:

ummmm did I miss it or is BWP not on the list?
The article explains that he and a few other players you would expect to be DPs are not. Their contracts are structured to pay them with various forms of Garber bucks.

My favorite thing about the list is it didn't make me click 50 times to see them all.

No kidding. They could have split it into 10s and I wouldn't have been mad. Very non-revenue focused to do what they did.

thanks, just ran through the list without reading the details. Interesting though that he's listed as a DP and his re-signing was announced as one as well.
