What an utter waste of two good Saturday hours. I'm not even going to bother commenting on what happened.
OK, so here's my Question of the Week: what can PV do to fix our crippling mental issue with playing in important games? Or do you think it's just a case of poor management/team selection/recruitment?
To my mind, this team has a serious issue with not being able to raise their performance in games which matter, and I'm starting to think that perhaps it's down to PV's lack of experience in how to mentally prepare his players - whatever he's saying to them before the games, it's just not the right thing. The longer this goes on, though, the more I worry that PV just doesn't have the right ability to mentally condition a dressing room the right way. When the team is chasing games they often seem to raise their game (though not always enough to actually fight back) but they just cannot get off the blocks in the right gear when the chips are down. That's my take, anyhow.
Thoughts?
