That was a rumor from people with 'inside' sources. But I'll take it at this point!

I was joking. No official number had been put out and if it were, I am pretty certain you would have seen it posted multiple times on these forums and on BigSoccer.
I would think so. Since we hit 3k accounts, they announced the Lampard signing and hosted the City-Liverpool match at the stadium. You would think that sales have been pretty strong since then and maybe we are at 4k now. If you assume the average is at 2.5 that's 10k seats sold right there! It seems reasonable to me.
Wish i could be a season ticket holder, but living in Hawaii might cause me to go bankrupt just flying to NY all the time.
That would mean that about 90% of the stadium was filled with season ticket holder seats, which would be a higher percentage even than European countries. While the capacity remains at 27,000, I would imagine they would cap season tickets at about 20,000 or so. Whether they will reach that figure or not, I'm not sure.
But you don't forget that 27,470 is the minimal capacity and the error in the Leiweke words.......
I think it was said somewhere that they might cap the season ticket number at 20,000 and have the remaining seats for individual ticket purchase.
