Took up a U22 spot right? This is a good development

This is correct. He is listed as U-22 on the Club's website. We signed him just before he turned 21, and Transfermarkt says the fee was €2.3 million.Yeah, that was my first thought. With how that program is growing in MLS, feels like we can get a good piece for his slot. This seems to be the model in MLS -- sign young players, and turn then around fairly quickly. Roster churn is a real thing in this league and this is a good example of it. Hopefully we'll start hearing about some signings soon because we have a lot of spots to fill.
Past time to dust this off.

Italics - means status uncertain due to loan expiry, free agent status or rumors of departure.
That's 26 players - all the ones who are listed on the Club's website other than the ones on active loan. This includes 6 guys who last year only played for NYCFC II (or nearly so). Maximo Carrizo is not listed on the Club's website, but I did include him above.
I don’t care to see Jasson as the next up on the wing. Although I would rate Pereira higher than him lolkinda seems like half our team is gone. lol.

Sometimes things are very much as they seem to be.kinda seems like half our team is gone. lol.
Apparently Santi is gone - couldn’t agree on terms with NYCFC and will head back to torque if he can’t find another club. Yikes.
According to SPOTRAC, his salary in both 2021 and 2022 was $612,500, which is exactly equal to the maximum salary allowed (without buying down with TAM or GAM or using a DP tag).i know he was on loan but i forgot if he was on TAM money or not? maybe he wanted that type of salary?
I'd take him back on max salary, I wouldn't want him here as a DP, so I agree with this decision.According to SPOTRAC, his salary in both 2021 and 2022 was $612,500, which is exactly equal to the maximum salary allowed (without buying down with TAM or GAM or using a DP tag).

But he can be bought down to TAM with a higher salary (including his transfer charge). I bet Torque wanted a transfer fee that would have made him a DP, and that's why we walked awayI'd take him back on max salary, I wouldn't want him here as a DP, so I agree with this decision.
Plus think of all that extra TAM we’re getting back from Brasil in this trade!Anything less than $1.6 million, and we can buy him down with TAM, assuming we we have some available, which I have to think that we do. In that case, he's not a DP. Plus, we do have a DP slot available.
As mentioned, it's possible Torque wanted an exorbitant transfer fee. If so, then who else can match it? Not likely to be the Brazilian team.
Finally, it's possible that he was asking for a salary that while below $1.6 million was still so high that it would take away too much flexibility to use TAM for other signings (Johnson, Callens).
