Do you think the players get paid for this extra game or is it written into their contract that they have to participate in these types of or deals?

Imagine having a vacation planned or having flown to your home country only to have a new game added to the schedule without any warning

All teams are still in training/doing post-season administration and medical stuff. Nobody under contract, unless authorized, is away from club business yet.

They had three weeks of offseason training scheduled when they missed the playoffs, so they've still been in NY the entire time. This will be at the end of the CBA-allowed 3-week window, so they'll go home after this game.

whether they get paid or not, i bet you there isn't a single one on the squad who wouldn't sign up for a free trip to see/meet messi let alone play on the field against him.
