For some of us, it never went away. It's back!
Oh double dip!
The Away team's jersey is up to the refs. The Home team picks and the Away team can give a preference but it isn't binding. It looks from this that the refs didn't like our baby blue against their red/white for some reason.* Saturday's ref might disagree but I wouldn't get my hopes up.I sincerely hope this is the (first) match where both teams wear their primary jerseys. It's been Black vs. White/Red, City Blue vs. Dark Blue, then Black vs. White/Red again. Come on guys, come on Don, let's make it City Blue vs. White/Red on Saturday.

* A lot of us thought that our blue against the WhiteCaps white jerseys was pretty bad. The only reason that went off I think is that we were home and of course picked the light blue, and the 'caps secondary jersey is a gradient blue with both dark and light blue elements so white was modestly better.
You would think.I totally agree about doing a Blue v Red jersey contrast. Why does RBNJ have blue uniforms anyway?
I think the light blue/white combo will work fine in this game given all the red in the uniform of NJ.
They really should be wearing kits supplied by CitiBank. That's a no-brainer.It really bugs me that for these national TV games, the kid escorts wear Wells Fargo outfits that look like Red Bull uniforms. Bad karma.
But CFG would rebrand it CityBank. They won't even spell Cityzens "citi."They really should be wearing kits supplied by CitiBank. That's a no-brainer.
I thought I read on MLS' recap that RB did not play high pressure and instead was playing possession ball. If true, I'd guess they were doing that to try and save themselves a bit for Saturday. Either way, I agree with you that RB should be the ones that tire first and will likely try to get a quick goal so that we have to try and chase the game. Our Mantra should be to weather the first 15 minutes and then make them chase the game with our possession.I don't think their defenders have looked good at all, and if their midfield is tired and can't give adequate cover in the form of double-teaming, then it could prove to be a long night for them. And hopefully Bravo quickly gets under the skin of both Sacha and Dax - throw them both off their games, and the middle is ours. One thing to keep in mind is that while the Pigeons played their B team on Wed (except for central defenders, CDM, and keeper) while the Pink Cows played their full strength A team. Central defenders and keepers should be able to go on shorter rest since they run less.
We all know that the Pink Cows like to press and play high tempo, which should tire them out quickly. If PV plays a bit of rope-a-dope, the team could find some nice opportunities as NJ tires.
Depending on game states, this should play into account. Might want to start strong, hopefully open the scoring, then let NJ run themselves out and hit them with speed.
The cows live on fast turnovers off of a team that plays out of the back. We all know that is how PV wants to play, but he has to have his team tactically aware for the high press.
Don't take it so literally - it's a pun..... Citi is blue....But CFG would rebrand it CityBank. They won't even spell Cityzens "citi."
Maybe you should recognize someone extending the jokeDon't take it so literally - it's a pun..... Citi is blue....
Bold Prediction #1: IF, and it's a very big IF, but IF Lampard plays, I expect there to be some sort of incident or opportunity where he instructs Grella on the finer points of the game. I don't think it will be a retaliatory nut-meg, but I could see on a set piece Lampard demonstrating the proper way to tug a player down out of the view of the ref, or taking a free kick (if Pirlo relents) and launching a laser off Grella's head, much like RJ did to the Portland player in the stomach.
Probably Lamps because of the importance of this game but I'm rooting for Jack HWho's more likely to get subbed on? Lampard or Harrison?
I have zero confidence in Lopez not getting a red in this match. And really, this is how it should be. Someone brought up a good point that had been touched upon all throughout last year: Kreis' lineup was always unpredictable. We had different pairings in the back every game, it felt like, and that just isn't conducive to creating chemistry and consistency. And even when we did play well with one lineup, it was swapped out the next game, which is why we were so spastic with results last year.
I think the lineup gives us the best chance to use the pitch to our advantage. Having wing backs that can fly up leaves less space for the CBs/CDMs to cover, allows Mikey to break up counters and have opponent defenders make quick decisions, hopefully leading to a turnover, also allowing everyone to get back on defense; it also is an easily morphing lineup, where you can drop Bravo deeper, sub Mikey off for offense or defense, and have Pirlo protected at all times, able to ping balls to the wings.
