I believe there is 1 spot left, but that will be used once Harrison's visa goes through. I forgot where I saw that, but I remember seeing something saying that they were waiting for the last of his paperwork before giving Harrison the International spot. I think that means there aren't any left once that part goes through. Saw it on twitter earlier today. This means no more internationals right? Or is this 1 left since Texeira fell through?
Thanks, the true insight here is his place of birth close to the border and the amateur club. Everything else I agree with but really are all guesses.Just because Ligue 1 is a step above the Pro League is irrelevant. You take whatever club is interested in you and will give you the best deal. He was born right on the French-Belgian border and his first club was an amateur club on the opposite side. At that level, you can't afford to be picky. From that point on he proved his worth to clubs further up the chain. Maybe he'd prefer to be playing in France, maybe he wouldn't, but the Belgian clubs were the ones who gave him the game time. It may well be a simple case that no club that ever needed a player of his position had scouted his league in a game he was playing in.
I doubt he would ever have been on PSG's radar, or even Olympique Marseille's, so the kinds of clubs he might have been able to play for are the types who can't really afford to keep comprehensive scouting databases on all the players in the leagues of neighbouring countries.
So that means no EDS this year. I think that's for the best.
Why do you say that? He is in the same league as teixiera, the Belgian league. Tefu was in the shitty south African league.Unfortunately, I think it's because he's closer in talent to Mashamaite than he is to Teixeira. I'm not viewing him as a savior, just a stop gap.
Yup..that's the one.

Well reasoned, hope you are wrong thoughLaurent Ciman and Kwame Watson-Siriboe were in the same league too.
Teixeira was recognized as one of the better defenders in the Belgian League. Brillant is being replaced because his team is making a move up the table.
He started 34 league games for KV Oostende last season and they finished 13th of 16 in goals against. This year, they're about 75% of the way through their season and are sitting 6th in goals against, with Brillant only making 7 starts.
I can admit I really don't know much about either player. But I don't think the things I've been able to dig up indicate that the players are in the same talent tier.
Well reasoned, hope you are wrong though

Where are the conflicting reports? I've only seen MLS not list him as one and then a bunch of speculation on this forum that he might be one. I haven't seen any reports that mention he may be using an international spot (not saying they don't exist, I just don't recall seeing any).1 if Harrison isn't an international.
