NYCFC v Philly

Have fun. The area around the stadium isn't great, but it is very nice facility to watch a game with a beautiful view of the water and bridge behind it. I'm bummed that a family obligation is keeping me from traveling this weekend.

ive heard this from other people too....is it straight up crack houses surrounding the stadium?

New York teams are hated all across the country. I never hear stuff about NY fans

maybe not blog/ news worthy but fights and scuffles have occurred at NFL games/ Yankee - boston games

and im sure in other situations as well.

Even TV feeds can have separate delays from different providers. I remember watching the Yankees/Mets World Series. I had DirecTV and my neighbor Time Warner, and every time something good happened for the Yankees I would hear a cheer about 10-15 seconds before I saw it happen.
My dad is on dish. I used to wow him with my predictive abilities until I came clean. Then, he would want to call me during big games when he had company so he could replicate my "predictive" powers.

Any lag over 5 seconds is a provider problem. And it will screw you up if you dig live betting.

I'm spitballing here, but the lag is very likely a function of the type of provider (coaxial, fiber, satellite, etc), bandwidth, number of users tuned in (not applicable for satellite), distance from repeater station/signal booster, etc.

Someone should make a movie about that.

Heading down to philly Friday night with friends and spending the night in philly Saturday as well. Is there an organized tailgate in the parking lot? Me and my buddies plan on taking a cab to the game so we can all enjoy a few beverages, but we don't want to just be walking around the parking lot like homeless drinking beers.

That's all just rationalization. It's a provider problem.

the best starting lineup NYCFC will ever be able to put out, saunders can't make a simple catch, great "crazy" save goalie, but can't catch, OR simply play with his feet without panicking, Hernandez is an OK 1v1 player but again can't go two steps without losing the ball or making an errand pass. at 70 min take pirlo off for which ever the game needs, if your up you add a defender if your down add a striker or an additonal offensive minded player.

I think the 3 man back line takes away one of our strengths, which is our attacking fullbacks. and minor quibble, Harrison is a left sided player, I believe. Agree with your other points.

Agree on Saunders but Mendoza looked dreadful last week and we have never seen Harrison play a min of professional soccer. Coming back from injury I doubt we see more than 5-10min of Harrison assuming he's ready. Pirlo seems to play better with Bravo and TMac. I think PV sticks with the 4-3-3 due to the large field and values backline continuity. My prediction would be this except Saunders in for EJ, I just put EJ in because that's what I'd like to see not what I think will happen.

Iraola, Hernandez Brilliant, Mattaritta
-----------Bravo ---------Pirlo------------
---------------------Mix--------------------
--Shelton----------Villa---------Talyor--

With 2 CDMs the fullbacks can attack more freely and Mix can play higher up the field to give Villa some link up help in the middle.

What about this:
4-3-3, or 4-2-1-3 depending on your preferences

-----------------Johansen-----------------
Iraola-Brillant-Harnandez-Matarrita
--------------Bravo---Pirlo----------------
--------------------Mix----------------------
Shelton-------Villa-------TT/Mendoza

Why:
-4 man back line allows for our FBs to go forward without leaving one single CB stranded on an island
-Bravo can help the CBs with counters when said FBs go forward, as well as covering for Pirlo, which is something we need.
-Mix can gallop and run about wherever he needs to be, and has some space not taken up by the Penguin.
-Shelton on the right has given us better results than having Mendoza in. I was high on Mendoza after his first sub appearance, but he has gotten progressively worse these past few games. Maybe stick him on the left since I also don't think TT does anything much either.

The weakest point, in my mind, with this formation is the Left Wing. Both Taylor & Mendoza haven't impressed much at all on either side. Maybe even stick Mac out there for his positional sense around the box and better soccer knowledge that TT/Mendoza. I'm hoping Harrison can come on and immediately go HAM on the left side, but I think that's a bit much to ask for.

Of course I post the same thing 2 minutes after you do hahaha. Needless to say, I like your formation.

Wow, I hope you are right and that he finally plays Bravo and Pirlo together. I'd even settle for him playing one of the other CMs in a deeper role closer to Pirlo. Having TMac and Mix play on the same horizontal plane way up the field has not worked on offense or defense. I've beaten this drum before, but two of the team's best games were last year against Tor and SJ at the end of the season and what was notable about them was Jacobson played as a true holding midfielder deeper than Pirlo. So, even with a guy who wasn't a natural holding MF, the team was better.

That last part about trying TMac on the LW is interesting to me. I'm not sure it would be best, but considering the recent play of our wingers, I feel like its worth a shot.

PV wants our wingers to cut inside, so having TMac on the left and cutting in to his right foot could be beneficial. He also has the work rate and defensive capabilities to track back.

I do like the idea of giving Mix more space and freedom to do what he wants. However, it would be interesting to see how our defensive tactics would change with a move to 2 CDMs. Currently, we have both TMac and Mix pressing high and the wingers tracking further back. I'll defer to someone who is more tactically savvy than me to go into how this works better.
