Nycfc V Redbulls Postmatch

As soon as I saw the NJ fans up there is spelled nothing but disaster. I seriously hope YS looks into moving them somewhere else because it was pathetic what they were doing. Also did anyone notice how it was all red and after the first NJ goal it became a cluster of black shirts?
I sit in 215 and they were right above me. I got a couple beers dumped on me during the first half, but then a security guard came into our section and the beer throwing stopped. But for them being right above me, I could hardly hear them. The only times I heard them were when the did "The Twist" and "Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye." Which are terrible and not creative to say the least. The rest of the time they seemed really quiet.

A disappointing loss for sure, but definitely feel like our future is much brighter.

I heard about a fight going on in the dugout before the game which is why the march to the stadium from the fountain was so small, does anyone know what happened?

It's shamefully really. It honestly gives a unique fan advantage. We will need to show our level of class next time we're in Jersey. Chin up gents! We will prevail!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. We were all on a hype of 3 game winning streak and the first 30mins seemed like it was going to be 4 but the players had a complete mental meltdown and the worst of times and we payed dearly but the one thing that annoyed me along with the other multitude of shitty decisions was the crowd, we weren't behind the team fully. I mean seriously a stadium of 48,047 and mostly NYCFC fans yet all I heard was the stupid NJ fans and I was in 128 and they out sung and out shit talked the supporters group and everyone in general. It's games like these that the players need to look at us wave their hands to their ears and we need to make some noise like Seattle fans do. Can't be the greatest team in the MLS without the greatest fans.... Just saying.
I think a lot of the problem is our supporters sit in literally the worst place for sound in the whole stadium.

And it's hard to shout or sing when you're praying you won't give up a goal all the time.

Okay. Third post in a row here, but I can't sleep.

So we're now down 5-2 on the season to the shitheads. As far as I can tell, only one thing left to do.

Make the playoffs and run their asses off the field once we have a full squad. I will love it when we win 6-0 agg. Let's see how loud Jersey talks then.

Fuck them.

I think there will be noise when some chants catch on beyond the supporters groups. Nobody but the Third Rail likes "Hey, Baby" (with good reason) and it certainly doesn't catch on beyond the occasional "hoo! ha!" outside of the supporters section.

But the thing is, chants and other fan participation arise organically over time. You can keep throwing stuff at the wall and it will eventually stick, but we haven't found whatever is going to catch the imagination of 48,000 people yet. It'll get there.

In a few seasons we'll find our YNWA, and the whole stadium will sing together and it will be glorious.

Yeah, shame that no one has ever written any songs about New York City (other than Hey Baby of course)

I could also do with never hearing DJ Mode again.

Shows no strategic thinking to run out the same gameplan against TO and NJ. Marsch must have been cracking up to see us concede the wide areas for his wingers. Once that happened and we had to help our awful fullbacks then klestjian was free to run full speed at our defense up the middle.

Just awful strategy, no needed changes at the half, and horrible subs. You are just dumb and not smart if you can't see that poku has to start.

Afraid besides poku and to a lesser extent mix and villa the rest look like the have won a completion to play at Yankee stadium.
On the plus side with pirlo and lampard in the team its the last time we should have to watch pass the hand granade football.not one could put his foot on the ball take a look and pick a pass.it was run with it and loose it or hit and hope.
If that was an advert for mls quality it failed miserably.

Makes it a bit hard to understand how Mix starts for our National team with Klestjan not even named on the Gold Cup roster.

Anyone see Nemec around last night? Didn't spot him in warm ups. Think he was cut?

I really don't have anything positive to say even after sleeping on it. I think we should leave this one where it belongs, in the past, and just move on to better days. They will be here soon lads. Even if the current team and new signings don't come together quickly enough to make the playoffs, we will at least have more entertaining football to watch over the second half of the season.

Who were the guys that our coach thought didn't give full effort? Can't be villa, mix was all over the place tackling and trying to press the defense. Jacobson was even involved in the attack. McNamara lost 6 lbs in sweat. Even though the defense looked lost, they were energetic.

The lack of effort comment sucks. It wasn't effort, it was game plan. Stop throwing the players under the bus after a loss. I really don't even blame grabavoy. He's not a defensive midfielder (it is actually laughable that he is played there) and he clearly has passed his prime. He's shouldn't even be out there. The shitball comments after losses just make Kreis so unlikeable.

I on the whole like Kries and his philosophy (at RSL) but I am beginning to wonder if he is a coach that cannot handle a big club, and the pressure that comes with it.

Have seen this many times in soccer in the past where a guy is great in smaller market but seems to lose his mind when in a more pressured situation.

I'm really not sure how he is going to manage a team with 3 guys who have played at such high levels. He might, MIGHT be in over his head.
