2018 General MLS Transfer Rumors

Didn’t their striker Diomande go out injured last match?
Yes, I think, but they also have Vela, Rossi, Urena, Blessing, and now Ramirez as forward scoring options. Diomande and Ramirez are the most clearly central of the lot, so maybe Diomande's injury is bad. But the other guys are not all exclusively wingers AFAIK.

Diamonds pulled up after a full sprint like it was a hamstring.

They have strikers but they haven't been scoring the past few games for them or at all. From this ESPN FC article;

"LAFC signed 20-year-old Uruguayan Diego Rossi to a young designated player contract, but he's struck just three times in his past 15 league appearances. Adama Diomande scored nine goals in his first seven appearances after arriving midseason from Hull City, but is goalless in his past four -- and limped out of Sunday's 2-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls with a reported hamstring injury. The club's third forward, Marco Urena, has yet to score in the league this season."

Creates a fight for spots, but if none of your options are doing shit, may as well try to bring in another if you have endless TAM and/or GAM to use.

So even though he’s been on consecutive USYNT’s, he’s not considered “elite”??? Especially considering he’s been playing in Europe? Very strange how they pick and choose.

did he even play much in Serie A?

i thought he kept getting loaned out to Serie C teams

He’s been on Loan with Livorno (Serie C just promoted to Serie B), from Fiorentina, for the last year/season with 22 matches.

Now that I looked closer at the list, it makes no sense as Weston McKennie isn’t on it among others left off. So IDK...

He didn't play at all really, like a game and was sent down to finish in youth league where he bossed it. He wasn't ready for Serie A. Fiorentina is a good team for those not sure. Then last year he went to C where he got more competition, less success and playing time though.

LAFC transfer Laurent Ciman to Dijon in Ligue 1. Apparently, they could not agree on a contract extension.

This is a big loss for LAFC in my opinion. He is a terrific centerback, and his ability to split the lines with his passing was a key for them.

They may have seen this coming and that's why they brought in Danilo Silva. They still have a pretty good CB pairing with him and Zimmerman.

Serves LA right for forcing a trade on him last season when everybody knew his reason for playing where he did was for his child’s medical treatment. That went down as one of the most self-serving transactions ever in MLS and Ciman was as professional as he could be under the circumstances.

Not sure that's on LA. I think the culprit was Montreal, and my understanding is that Ciman was very unhappy with the Impact.

True. There were two winners and one loser in that transaction.
