That collar looks extremely meh. In 2018 with the kind of construction technology we have, it's a bit of a rip off how much we are paying for mediocre gear.
It's okay, I just think it's missing something- I think it's the outlines on the collar/sleeves we're used to on our home kits. Whether blue or black. Also, someone else mentioned it, but I wonder if it would look better if they pinstriped it? tri-color pinstripe.
This kit is garbage. I'll be buying it anyway.

I loved that design despite the poor results. Other than the collar, I’m liking the new direction.It sadly reminds me of the 2006 USA World Cup home shirt...
Adidas isn’t the type of company to slip designs out to find out what the fans think. Giving the past production timelines on MLS kits, whatever new home jersey we have for 2019 is done and sealed up, as production should’ve been completed by now.
These kits have been in development for a while. They’re already working on the 2020 kits that will replace the blue/grey confederacy
There was an interview a few years back, posted on the forums, and the kit designer said he designs 2 years ahead.

Forgot to ask- someone mentioned about not wearing jerseys with the Etihad logo on it- so I was wondering, where do you get your jerseys sans sponsor? replicas online?

adam is right. I wear training jerseys. They're official and look good, but they're not an exact match for the game jerseys, though the light blue ones look very much like the game jerseys. They're not exact matches but the basic simple light blue look is there.They have yet to produce a training jersey that comes close to any of the secondary kits. The closest was in 2015 there was a black training jersey that was somewhat like the away kit, but it was clean -- no angled black-on-black stripes -- and I think better looking. That's my favorite. They never made a training hypnokit, though there was a jersey with a blue a bit closer to the hypno blue than the usual baby blue and with orange trim. There's nothing even remotely evocative of the charcoal grey armpit wings jersey -- there's nothing with the wings and not even a plain grey version.
They also never have sold a training jersey with the hospital sponsor that I could find. I'm fine with that. I like the clean look, but I know some folks have looked for them and they've never been spotted.
I remember for some time they sold them with the New York Presbyterian logo. Though I'm more a support of Mount Sinai. #MOT
