2021 Roster Discussion

Yup. But will our DP signing start before Taty starts where everywhere he goes/

if we have 3 DPs, we can’t have Thiago as a U22TAM.

So the question is - is Medina a DP or not? Because if he is a DP, we’re not getting a third DP. We’re getting Thiago and hopefully another U22TAM

No matter what we will have a minimum of 1 U22 slot. Also, even with non-Young 3 DPs, if at least one of the DPs is on a salary of <=$1,612,500 , then we get 3 U22 slots.
I have no idea where NYCFC fits in that typically complicated MLS matrix, but I'm confident thems are the rules.

there's gotta be some weird hold up when it comes to NYCFC pushing a VISA through...

atlanta signed a defender from independiente 4/3 and he played in CCL on tues.

FO is dropping the ball somehow.

i know nothing on visa's but always wondered if the type of visa they are applying for is what causes delay.

why would their visa be any different than any other team's visa? i'm sure they're all going for a normal P-1 visa used for athletes

because if that were true it doesn't make sense it takes so long to even get an interview like with malte.

the variable here is the front office handling the matter. which results in the conclusion that ours apparently sucks at their job.

it wouldn't make much sense for them to try to get a different visa. besides, i think the last injury report listed him as waiting for his p-1 visa

EDIT:

"The 20-year-old will join NYCFC pending the receipt of a P-1 Visa. "

they do this every year, and its not like a negotiation, just get he proper documents needed and submit. Then again the FO has failed a lot elsewhere so i guess i cant be too shocked about it.

Hmmmmmm. P-1 Visa.....Brazilian transfer....P1 Brazil.

This is bigger than the Taty intent conspiracy.

It’s bigger cause... it’s all connected. How it all fits together, I don’t know but the Brazil connection must have something to do with it... not sure how Callens and Peru fit into this... but Shradi changed his number right? 17 (Q). To be continued...

Maybe depending on the state, visas take different amounts of time? Maybe the other places are getting visas faster for various reasons? I know in NY, visas are hard to come by at the moment based on the tech job force... maybe it's something similar to that.

I SAID STOP THE Q SHIT!

he was not in training videos so it's unlikely he got his visa yet. this should be confirmed either way on tomorrow's injury report.

not sure how other teams are getting their visas through so quickly. malte was what.. 6 weeks? if same holds true for thiago, he won't be playing any minutes until late may.

Other teams aren't getting their guys that fast -- Cincinnati has been waiting forever for one of their new signings, I remember reading about that last week.

There are all kinds of issues slowing down visas. We use an au pair for our kids, and it took our current au pair around 9 months to get the visa that brought her into this country. For a long time, it was because the embassies were closed in Germany due to Covid. Then Trump suspended the relevant visa program. Then there was an opening, but the embassies were closed again due to a surge. It was one thing after another until January.

I don't think he's going to go through anything like that, but there can be a lot of disruptions right now.

at least we know thiago exists as he's hanging out with Heber on the sidelines

Something that we haven’t spoken about yet. In a recent interview, Lee discussed the possibility of the new salary rules allowing us to take in Man City loanees
