2021 Roster Discussion

i mean its no different than what we doing now with thiago, acevedo, gloster, Jasson, talles magno and santi ( if they come here). Its the "potential" they are going with these signings.

yea he allegedly went to beach parties when he was told not to in 2020 in all of the pandemic and apparently got covid as a result ( the article says he got it twice but not sure when the other time was). He got in the first team in 16 and in rio with a popular team and making probably ok to good money, that shit gets to your head. Maybe Heber can get him to calm down and focus, papa heber if you will. Apparently he follows the kid on instagram.

yes injuries are the big reason that interest died out, and with our bad track record of injuries ( which seems bad this year compared to other years, even players that dont normally get hurt are hurt, something just feels that is wrong) does not help. on the flip side injured players is something the FO loves to do i mean zelalem got a freaking extension and played in just one official game.

exacrly. This plan sucks. It’s buying Medina all over again. It’s taken 3+ seasons for him to be a contributor

Sounds like his injuries and issues have to do with not taking care of himself and then injuring in training/games. this comes down to discipline and hopefully Heber and others can guide him to be a professional.

or... we're just paying a lot of money for another zelalem
I would not rely on Heber to teach someone how not to get injured.

And i been saying this time and time again, this is the CFG plan for nycfc. Buy young “prospects” and bring up homegrowns see if they pan out and move them to to europe if possible. This is not going to change anytime soon, or ever. More than Fair to criticize but its the CFG plan as its been shown for past few years.

this seems to be done in cycles, we getting new players for the next 2/3 years, while others are being cycled out like mata, ring, maxi, and potentially others like chanot soon enough.

And yet, no trophies.

How the hell is he here already but our other Brazil player doesn't have his visa?

says here he will be added to roster once he gets his visa, so maybe he is on another type of visa to be here a few days only then has to go back and wait for the P1?

looks like he's going to fit right in.. .lol.

maybe he came on a tourist visa.

welp... that's one DP spot.

we have one more so long as mitri doesn't decide to return anytime soon.

Here is the best writeup I could find on him. It's from a Liverpool site when they were considering signing him last summer.

The left wing, however, is where he has seen the most action in the early stages of his fledgling career.
But it is his dribbling ability and his touch of showboating which has seen Talles likened to Neymar, with his Brazilian flair earning him admirers and the nickname ‘Magico’.
And while many like to associate up-and-comers with established players, South American football expert Tom Robinson, speaking on World Football Index‘s Scouting Spotlight podcast, was quick to say that “it is best to scrap all comparisons.”
The 18-year-old boasts a 6’1″ frame, is left-footed and is praised for his determination and work ethic alongside his obvious talent on the ball and “a really good footballing brain.”

Left wing and 6’1”. Wonderful

we have a lot of leftys in the attack...

ronny seems to like to play inverted wingers too, which would leave ITS out once Talles arrives and is fit.
Seems to me like Ronny likes playing Medina at RW and he's mentioned he likes Medina in that spot as well. ITS was at the 10 on Saturday, I think we're more likely to see Medina at RW, Talles at LW, with ITS coming off the bench.

Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out if everyone is healthy (including Heber) and then you add Thiago and possibly Santi to the mix. May see a return to the 4-3-3 at that point.

just having options to rotate once the schedule gets congested, will be great. we're already getting the injury bug. let's hope it doesn't get worse.

watched the little twitter thing.. noticed for someone who is a left footer, he uses his right foot for all his skills/juggling? is he really a left footer? if he's great with both feet then *HOORAY!*
