Are they doing one of those offseason things where they send 3 or 4 guys to train with City?
That's most likely, although it's also possible other teams will come to take a look at him.
Don't worry yet. TMac, RJ and Poku went to Manchester last year to train.
Given that Matarrita has said over and over again that his goal is to play in Europe, it's not surprising he's taking up a chance to train with Pep & City over playing teams like Belize.
I have no issues with this. If he can get substantially better by training there for 6 weeks, good for him.
I agree. But he will have 6 extra weeks of instruction that others aren't getting.
By the way - how is this allowed under the CBA? That has surprised me
I hope no one recycles the Man City is going to steal Poku posts from back when he was asked to train in Manchester (that was, if Barcelona didn't swoop in and take him).
I just hope Mata doesn't drink too much Pep kool aid, or he'll come back drifting aimlessly into central midfield. Maybe he can sneak out and spend a day with Milner.

I wouldn't think anything negative of it. We've done it in all the past seasons. Of all our players he's the one I'd most want over there.

I think this talk is overreation, but also, usually physicals are done at the location of his new team, not old organization. Unless he's signing with MCFC, but I doubt that.

Incidentally, remember that time everyone made fun of Pirlo for randomly shooting a corner kick into the rafters? As it happens, I got a picture of the kick in progress...
