2018 Roster Discussion

NYCFC Instagram posted a video of Ring and someone working with his knee, he seemed quite in pain throughout the process. I hope he gets to sit out against MTL.

EDIT: I'd be more okay with this development if they announced that Berget, Medina, and Taty were all healthy.

But if this means that Rodney Wallace gets more minutes, ugh.

But really what's better 70-80 USL minutes per game or 10 MLS minutes? USL...

I guess it's better than having him not play here, right?

Seems odd when we've been short of bodies recently though.

USL season ends on 10/13. He will be back before Philly Union finale on 10/28. Since we don't have games for a few months* it's hopefully going to get him some time, similar to Sands.

*sarcasm

Everyone is super down on Dome but he clearly believes that young guys need to play in order to develop, something many have been clamoring for. I'm sure some will argue that Lewis should just get his reps with us but since it seems like he's not going to get as much time as he needs I'm happy they are doing this. Also a loan stint for Sands ended with him starting upon his return maybe this could be the path for Lewis as well.

I agree this is a big deal and it coincides with Dome's arrival. We had been assuming that our tenuous USL arrangements did not allow for deals like this because it never happened. Now it is happening and it would not be ridiculous to conclude that Vieira was the reason and to credit Torrent for the reversal.

so i wonder if we change the "affiliation" from San antonio to Louisville next year. I forgot if its required to have one

I don't know why people are flipping out about this. Sands went on loan for 2 weeks and went straight into the starting XI when he came back. The precedent has been set, all Lewis has to do is ball out and Dome will give him a chance.
