2020 NYCFC Kit Thread

I bought the new authentic kit last night at the 2020 Launch event. I swung back around to liking it. I customized with Maxi, I dig the new MLS letters/numbers.

None of the jerseys (authentic or replica) had sleeve patches, but they had them there). I inadvertently didn't get them because I guess I didn't ask but they had the MLS 25 patches

edit: although some teams like Toronto have a sleeve sponsor, I was told we don't have one (yet), so I assume MLS 25 on both sides

I think it's a #TeamOver50 thing to hate it.

I feel attacked.
I don't hate it. It looks much better in pictures when people are actually wearing it. I also think the MLS25 font goes really well with all the new kits.
Maybe #TeamOver50 hates it because they lived through the original template already?

Full kit wanker is the way to go with this design. I thought that it looked pretty horrible initially, but with the full package, it looks pretty cool.

Agreed, very cool. And the socks are sweet too. I have always liked the color scheme as well - and it looks even better repeated three-way.

If Adidas and MLS really want to celebrate 25 years, how about selling the jerseys at 1995 prices.

The handy US Inflation calculator website has an $80 replica in 2020 being valued at $47.69 in 1995.

The authentic would be $120 reduced to $71.53 in ‘95 currency.

If only they brought back the long sleeve, it’s be $150 reduced to $89.42

That’s how you celebrate 25 years of a bad design gimmick.

I don’t know why all the Jersey reveals are not on a car bed going forward. It’s a real part of club history.

I was starting to soften, going into a mode of denial about the new kit. I thought maybe I’d get my daughter one for her birthday. I shared pictures of the new jersey tonight and she sobered me up. Her immediate reaction was basically negative due to the ”bear claw“and sleeves. She also noticed how the stitching between the main body and sleeves shoulders and collar looked pinched and bunched up. I get exited about new kits but unfortunately, the aforementioned elements have me looking toward next year already.

I ordered the authentic kit from adidas. On their website, the image of the kit doesn't show league patches on the arm(s). On the MLSsoccer.com website, the image of the kit shows a league patch on one of the sleeves.

If I get the kit from adidas and it doesn't have the league patches I'm going to be quite upset. It should be a singular product across retailers, especially since adidas makes the kits for MLS.

Yea I looked at the price tag to make absolutely sure. You can also tell by the shape of the bottom hem. Authentic is curved vs straight across on the replica. It seemed strange to me that the MLS badge wasn't on there.

I'm 100% waiting to get this jersey seeing as I haven't seen a single retailer with the new lettering for customization, patches missing, etc. Also, buyer beware when ordering from the MLS store; They are expecting to ship on 26 Feb. The last time I waited and ordered from them it took a whole two weeks afterwards for them to ship the jersey.

Wow. Where did you read that? That sucks. Not like they lowered the prices on jerseys even a little bit to accommodate. And as lion said, the pics on MLS store show the patch on the sleeve.
