Nycfc Training Fields Thread

You could be completely right, but if this team was practicing at SUNY and that map is just old, its still very possible they are using the new NYC fields.

They are not. I can confirm that. Our fields are under 2 feet of snow right now and completely chained up.

You could be right. Another thing thats made me think there is a connection is one of the FC Westchester coaches has been tweeting about the NYCFC training facilities.

To give everyone an idea of what you are looking at there in this twitter picture...close your eyes and do the following:

Directly behind you, had you turned 180 degrees, you would be staring at a spot between home plate and the first base dugout of a baseball stadium/field. If you turn another 45 degrees and looked about 200 yards away you would see the closer of the two endzones of that turf football field. It's separated by the driveway and first few parking spots.

That map is totally off. Our field is where the baseball field on the left is and extends out farther towards C& B fields.
It really looks like thisView attachment 1568

Sorry for all the responses but trying to paint an accurate picture for each.

Right now, there are no fields F and G. Our pitches extend that far.

You pretty much nailed your spot as to where our fields are. They eliminated F and G and the one baseball field your black placemark covers.

Our field should be fine. They can sweep the snow when the ground is frozen and by the 3rd week of march temps should be in the mid 40s to low 50s during the day. This is a youth soccer league in Westchester. Not sure of the Everton connection but its probably because one of the coach's used to be in the Everton system or he grew up with Tim Howard in NJ, but it is just a big money youth team. The fields they say they are on are the turf football field and some grass fields off in the back. Field ABCFGH are nothing more than mowed lawns that you would put up small orange cone for youth soccer.

This Everton squad was affiliated with Chelsea until about a year ago.

Just to make myself clear this is 1 of the top teams in the area, but is still a youth travel team
These kids work hard and are on the top of their game

I drove over to see the fields this morning. We had 8 inches more of snow last night. The pitch is under 2 feet of snow right now.

Wow NYC is going to need an indoor training field as well.

When is the team back? Do we know when they are supposed to start using the pitch? I'm sure someone over at NYCFC is in charge of facilities maintenance but 1) there is no physical structure there to change, shower, warm up, etc. Maybe they will bring trailers? 2) The field is going to be mush if they let the snow continue to settle. I know they didn't cover it, because I've been there while it's snowed. It's just buried right now.

They'll be using the locker rooms. I posted a tweet with the badge in front of locker rooms. Can't find it.

so where is the team going to practice before the orlando game and home opener? hopefully the fields will be cleared by then i assume they will be coming back to NY after the game tonight?

That was the point of my post. The fields aren't clear. It's a gargantuan task
To do that. Stepping near the fence, I had my boots in over a foot of snow. And that was a more well traveled path than the pitch.
