That sounds awesome.
Since you brought up finances, I'll make clear to anyone wondering: I know this can be expensive, especially when you go often. Even for people with discretionary spend capabilities, for many of us adding something new means taking away something we already love.

My point really - for those who need convincing - is if you haven't even thought about going ever, or in a while, think about trying it once [again]. If you're flexible TKTS has deals. My wife and I got out of the habit of seeing shows, concerts, etc., when our girls were young. We still could have swung the money and also arranged sitters on occasion. We just didn't. Now we do and I'm very glad of it.

By the way, Bill and Ted made a most excellent Vladimir and Estragon. I think their real life personal 40 year history together helped deepen the performance. Didi and Gogo have their own decades long friendship, even if they have trouble remembering it. Ponzo was very strong also. Lucky has less opportunity to shine but he certainly did not pull the team down.

TKTS can be nice if you get there early enough and have a decent selection. I believe discounts are about 20-30% depending on the show.

Alternatively, many of the shows have ticket lotteries and offer discounts up to around 50%. It is hit or miss sometimes and you may get a seat with obstructed views of the stage. Each show lottery has their own rules with regards to when you can enter and rules to purchase your ticket if you are selected. Definitely worth a look if you are flexible with when you can go see a show.

Now is a good time to partake in broadway and off broadway if you have never gone before or want to get back into it. Ticket prices will be going up since Broadway is struggling to make a profit and to be fair, ticket prices have not increased all that much relative to the cost of putting on a production.

I forgot my password to an account for something that I set up a few years ago. They asked me my challenge questions to confirm my identity. The first two were standard "name of your first pet" and "school you went to in 3rd grade" and the 3rd question was my custom "Who scored the cup winning PK for NYCFC" and it was such a a good feeling!

Ran the New York City Marathon yesterday! Such an incredible experience. New York is definitely the best damn city.View attachment 14214
Congrats!!

Have you run others? Which ones?

I’m training now. Never liked running. Never did it before this year. Started running in April. Planning to run the Queens 1/2 on 12/7, the day after I turn 53, and a full sometime in 2026. Hopefully this doesn’t jinx it.

I ran the Hartford marathon a few years back. But I am running Philly in a couple weeks (yes I am crazy), Paris in April, and then I qualified for NYC next year through the 9+1 program. Good luck with training! It’s fun especially when you train with friends!

I'll never forget when I was in college, our cross-country team had shirts: "Our sport is your sport's punishment."

Much, much respect to you. My father and grandfather have both run marathons, the time commitment is insane.
