First half was entertaining but second half was just sloppy.
We lack sharpness in the final third. Countless times Sweat was alone on the left side with all the time in the world to either dribble at the defender or pick out a cross and failed over and over and over again.
If this is our identity we need FB’s that have quality. Shit, go out and get DP full backs if our intent is to attack via that method. Tough to watch all that possession get squandered as soon as we get close to goal.
There was maybe 12-14k in actual attendance. It’ll be interesting to see the reported numbers. Nearly entire sections behind goal empty.

Maybe I’m being overly critical on Ring but I thought this was his worst game to date. Way too many turnovers from him.

Unfortunate clearance from Chanot but he needs to be better.

Loving what I see from Heber.

Thought ITS was kind of invisible at times and slowed down the offense other times. He also needs to put away that peach of a ball from Heber.

Teams know that they can give us sweat wide to not get beat through the middle. He really struggles to create chances in space wide in the final third.

Unfortunately, this felt like a month ago when we couldn’t turn dictating a game into 3 points.

one interesting thing from watching the game of tv is that Heber is so expressive, you can clearly tell when he is super happy after the goal, disappointed if he doesn't handle a pass well, and frustration near the end

Sweat gave the guy a chance to pick his head up, change his mind, hit a cross, follow through. And he was still 10 yards off.

The guy is a joke of a roster spot.
There were a few instances where Maxi had the ball wide with an obvious opportunity for a give and go with Sweat and he just turned to the middle of the field instead.

At work will DVRed but will watch super condensed version later. Glad to see Heber looking like a success so far hopefully we can get him and Mitri on the field together regularly and they Gel.

You don’t lie. Sat in SS. People were audibly groaning several times and then back in off after they realized it was Sweat.

Maxi hit the post the 4th straight match.

Maxi was fouled 7 times for the 2nd straight match. (Really pissed at the referee for this match, how was there not a persistent infringement card against Orlando? They fouled 17 times and only 2 yellow cards, and one should have been a red as the last defender DOGSO.)

Anton has the game winner on his right foot which he shot right at the keeper. Dwyer had the game winner on his head that he pushed wide of the post.

I need to watch again but I thought the keeper saved Maxi’s shot and pushed it onto the post

Herber has been great since joining, his 1st half header was all him making space, he had a great run in the 2nd half with a lovely bit of skill to pass the man

Ring had a rough one today, so many misplaced passes

Sands the rock of the team

Rowe did save the shot and it then hit the post. Maxi's shot vs. Chicago was also saved by Ousted and it then hit the post too.

NYCFC was fortunate to get the draw - they have Dom Dwyer to thank for his wide-open miss.

Don’t understand playing essentially the same starters three matches in a row in a week - the defenders couldn’t match the speed of Nani/Muller/Akindele trio (not sure they could even if not tired) and was almost run off the field with the through balls and breakaways. Johnson really blew that clearance and had Chanot to thank for the goal line clearance.

Ring looked like he was trying to get multiple cards, especially with his arguing at one point. SMH.

Couldn’t tell what happened in the dustup with Callens, but the guys around me also though it looked like Callens threw a punch at Sacha as he was “making space.” Did he do that?

Why also would a coach of a tired team, who’s evidently going for the win, not use a third sub??? I get it Medina was the option left on the bench, but why him, there, if not to be used while Lewis is in street clothes???

I like Orlando’s Muller - high high high workrate and speed, good technical ability, and the ability to cross and shoot.

Maxi can’t buy a goal. Fortunate his shot was parried into the post/crossbar and ricocheted back to Heber. Heber has been Jonny on the spot - maybe a true 9 finally.

adam adam was man of the match as I’ll be collecting my beers in about 30 days or so. Maybe space them out at 30 and 60 days with our fortuitous schedule.

Why does Domè not use all subs so often? This is the third game this season that he only uses two out of three. And after such a busy week nonetheless.

I was ok with the subs today, treats was the only one he had that was going to change the game and it was obvious they were limiting his run out

If anything he should have taken ring out for Parks

It was *NOT* DOGSO.... please LionNYC LionNYC give it up on the ref conspiracy.

The Orlando player was between the NYCFC player and the ball. The NYCFC player never even played the ball and was not in a position to get a touch on it before the Orlando player fouled him. DOGSO only counts when the attacker has at least a 50/50 chance at it if not actually being in full possession.
