I'm very happy about Lampard joining. I don't understand why some people don't want him here.
It's simple, when you have incidents like his 9/11 situation, it kinda looks bad. Not taking anything away from his talent as a player but in the eyes of Britain he is a sport legend but to America, he is painted as somewhat of an jerk. Sucks to say but that was his first impression to the US and unfortunately it's not going to go away that soon to many people, especially in New YorkI'm very happy about Lampard joining. The Daily Mirror in the UK is reporting that the deal is done. Not sure if they are a reliable source.

This is what I'm thinking as well. It seems more of a signing for marketing reasons. He would be a huge tool to get fans of other EPL teams to watch NYCFC.I think it could be nice PR for fans of other English clubs that we are not primarily going after players with Man City connections.
I imagine he'd play holding with someone more energetic. Like he did this season, for example paired with Ramires.Would Lampard fill the role at the bottom of the diamond at this stage in his career? Or attacking mid?
