He deserves support because hes a NYCFC player, its that simple.
Oh ok, got it. So it doesn't matter what kind of person they are? As long as they're great at football, and plays for my team. Great way to look at things.

Where are you seeing this rumor? Here's what changes things: rumor is that Lampard will NOT get DP money.
Do you even know for sure what he said 13 years ago? under the influence of alcohol i must add. was it so horrible that it never can be forgotten? ppl have done horrible crimes and got forgivness in less time. i mean seriously some perspective is needed here.Oh ok, got it. Yep. Just saw it on SportsCenterI hear ESPN confirmed the Lampard signing and David Villa
Would it be cheating if he takes a massive pay cut and he's offered a position as like an academy coach upon retirement where he recoups money he would have missed out on as a player?
Saw that he was getting a "bonus laden contract" structured to avoid DP on twitter. Very early this morning.Where are you seeing this rumor?
From what I've seen, Lampard is going to take a significant pay cut, but I haven't seen anything that indicates it will be to sub DP wages. Going from $13 million per year to less than $400K would be a very steep pay cut.

I've now gone through enough booze and belligerence at the awful ref at the US match, I can't find it. Sorry. I didn't make it up, but it is prima facie far -etched.
City fan here who's been browsing the forum for a bit but felt obliged to sign up cos of this debate.
Personally of the opinion that Lampard isn't a bad bloke. He might have made a drunken mistake when he was in his early twenties, yes, but I actually consider Lampard one of the brighter, more intelligent footballers. I'd go as far as to say I like him. He seems intelligent and articulate.
Gained a lot of respect for him when he rang a radio phone in show who had criticised him and how he'd dealt with his family. He comes across as quite an honourable man.
Yes, he may have been drunk and obnoxious on one very bleak day but he was very young and it was very unfortunate. If you can all honestly say that you've never done anything stupid (which is all it was) then fair enough. Don't hold one drunken debauched moment, which was most likely led by the scumbag that is John Terry too, as anything more than it was - it wasn't a personal direct attack on all things America i'm sure. It was just stupid.
Just be excited to have players such as David Villa and Lampard rocking up at your club. It's absolutely wonderful. I'm personally incredibly intrigued by the prospect. I presume Kries will take a few of the better city academy players too. Watching the likes of Thierry Ambrose, Brandon Barker and Seko Fofana (if any of them go) playing alongside established players like them and no doubt the pick of the MLS will be incredibly exciting.
from what I've heard Lampard will not be a DP
I do remember reading he would have a bonus laden contract. But just because a contract is bonus laden doesn't mean he won't be a DP.Saw that he was getting a "bonus laden contract" structured to avoid DP on twitter. Very early this morning.
This year, the cap charge for DPs is $387,500, which was 12.5% of the salary cap.Again. Could someone aware me? If he's not a DP, isn't that going to take a huge chunk of the salary cap
