With no callens, Ibby can step in. Then we still have Vuk (though unproven, is still a CB) and Gray.
3 backup CBs is plenty of depth, no?
Vuk hasn’t done anything. Gray is a RB. But we’ll see!

Crazy to say this (and I know this is addressed in your 4-3-3) but it's pretty tough at this stage of the season to leave your team's leading scorer out of the starting 11.Once these new guys are fully integrated into the team, who do you think starts and subs going forward?
Depends on the formation to a great extent. Here is a 3-4-1-2.
Striker: Castellanos - Talles Magno
Forward: Talles Magno - Medina, Andrade, Shradi
Attacking Mid: Moralez - Santi
Left Wingback: Admundsen, Thorarinsson, Gloster
Central Mid: Parks - Rocha, Haak
Central Mid: Morales - Acevedo,
Right Wingback: Tinnerholm, Jasson
Left Centerback: Callens
Centerback: Sands
Right Centerback: Chanot
(backups for each centerback spot - Ibeagha, Gray
We're contenders for the Wooden Spoon. MLS pundits predicted we'd miss the playoffs. We don't have enough time for all these players to gel. Ronny doesn't speak Spanish or Portuguese.
MLS Digital is now talking about NYCFC “breaking out” and is a contender for a trophy. We’re Dooooooooooooooooooomed. 3 losses and a Ronny meltdown incoming.

Our 3 new players have appeared a total of 22 minutes. I'm optimistic, in part because that's more fun, but we have no clue how they will perform here, and none of them have really broken out into stardom anywhere yet.Integrating this many new players mid-season is going to be tough no matter how talented they are. Add in that most of these guys are very young and it wouldn't be surprising to see some of them take a while to adjust to the league. I'm optimistic that by the end of the season this team could do some damage in the playoffs but I'm preparing for a possible bumpy start.
So Santi was acquired before the primary window closed (June 1) but was announced on June 9.
That is a very good comp video. It also made me realize something about G+. His top 2 G+ passes were close to goal but otherwise unremarkable, while some of the lower ranked ones were 2 and 3 line breakers and field switchers that took more vision and skill to pull off. That's not a flaw in G+ because it is measuring what it is meant to measure, which is how much does any given play make it more likely a goal is scored. But I had not considered how it would value a short pass into the box more than the longer ones that are harder to pull off.Loved this quote from Sands earlier today on the new signings:
ETA: Also that video from Kevin is fantastic.

Not disagreeing with you on that point, but perhaps (usually) the shorter passes into the box are harder to pull off because quite often you have a more compressed defense with more bodies in the way? That is a very good comp video. I'm not getting in the middle of that.ETA: I feel like this whole post is just me arguing with myself.

Sebastian Blanco tore his ACL on September 6 and returned yesterday. Héber tore his 17 days later on September 23. Of course the tares are different, they heal different, etc. And for all we know Blanco came back too soon.
But it's an interesting point of comparison and optimistic take Héber comes back soon.
