For sure he's not wrong. I'd be interested to know if pep would be interested in coming to MLS too. But I think he'd probably go to serie a or ligue 1 before MLS. Conquer Europe before he comes to MLS. Though, he seems like a man who enjoys a challenge. MLS has much better parity than either of those leagues. To win the quadruple in MLS would've amazing.
If he came to MLS and won, that’d be amazing. Pep is an absolutely fantastic coach, but the reality is winning a league title in MLS would be far harder for him than leading the best funded teams in Spain, Germany, and England.
Barcelona was hands down the biggest accumulation of talent in Spain with only Real on par, and Bayern hoarded the best players in Germany and nobody came close, and MCFC opened the roll-up doors at the bank anticipating his arrival and also when he set foot inside. It’s not like he guided Bilbao or Hertha, or Everton to the titles.
Don’t get me wrong, winning titles is winning titles and he’s done so with extremely vicious precision and point accumulation each time, so it’s not as if he squandered the talent for close titles on low point totals, but MLS would be more of a challenge with man management of players with more meager abilities. Then again, CFG would definitely get him 3 top DPs and probably lobby for numbers 4-6 to be added to the league’s roster creation rules. Hat alone would make it worthwhile as a spectator.
That's the thing. He took over top teams and made them even more dangerous with his philosophy and tactics.
I'd love to see if he could do the same with the limitations MLS would put on him. He can't just go buy players he needs .. he'd need to be more selective and then just work with what he could get. But just having him at the helm would make some top players want to join because by the time pep decides to try MLS, it'll be far more improved than it is now. 5 years has made a huge difference already. Another 5 and we'll look back on this time and think how far we've come.
Great article. Given how Heber has been in a lot of places, makes sense how he adopted so quickly here. Seems to have his feet on the ground given what he’s been through.
Yea. To think that if he had not broken his leg, he could be in EPL with Firmino or another top league. Had no idea he had such an injury. It's no wonder he's got that big smile on his face. He deserves his success! Hope he continues to improve and become a legend in MLS.

I knew about his more recent career at the farther edge of Europe. But I didn’t know that 7 years ago he was just getting ready to feature in the Brazilian top flight when a really bad injury reset his career.
He’s struck me at first glance as a pretty smart guy, and this article doesn’t change that at all. Especially his quick assessment of whether to leave Europe for NYC. He is now shining on a really big stage with a very well connected club.

you gotta take those public polls with a grain of salt. LAFC has been on another level all season so it's understandable they get a lot of votes. ATL is good and have the advantage of a huge fanbase.
i kinda think we should be getting bumped up to #1 right now since we are unbeaten in 7 (i think) while LAFC hasn't won in their last 4. but you know how it is.. everyone is riding the LAFC train.
It's annoying that they only show you the results for a few seconds after you vote, then that portion of the screen turns into a request to share your vote, and I could not find a way to flip it back. So I didn't record the specifics, but I did note that NYC is actually in last place, behind not just LAFC and ATL, but even LAG, PHI and Other. NYCFC fans just don't turn out for these things, and a lot of MLS fans seem to think the team is only winning due to luck, illusion, and a tiny, illegal field.

interesting little "interview". I kinda wish the DJs had done their research a bit. It's pretty clear how absolutely clueless they are about MLS is, how it works, or how soccer is in the US and internationally as a game and culture. I guess this really shows how unaware americans are, as a whole, with regards to MLS and soccer.
this one even felt awkward. the one last year with Ethan White and Rodney Wallace was much better.
