Red Bulls - Postmatch

You can argue the 20/20 hindsight, but salary and cap space are not relevant. Ashely Cole was a free transfer making 300k.
We had just signed the Man of Glass - Mata, and viewed him as the long-term answer until transferred out for a profit. Why do that and spend $300k on Cole if it limits other positions - it’s not as if we had a spare $300k lying around. $300k is still $300k, gotta balance the books. Plus, who knew Mata was going to be injured every week and nobody else would be good enough to unseat Sweat. You make it seem as if signing Cole would have been done in a vacuum.

Yeah, I don't give props to a player for calling out his teammate because they lost a bad game in an otherwise good season. At least not in public. Wanna have a discussion in private to air out the grievances, by all means. But I think it's a bad look. It's not to say that Ring is wrong, I just think there are better ways to handle it.
It wasn’t just a “bad game”, it was worse than the Red Wedding because our quality of roster is far better this season and yet we were systematically destroyed on every level. Ring was asked a question and he answered it honestly - he didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. To me, it’d be more disingenuous to make yourself available to answer questions and then give vanilla answers - either don’t make any players available or let them speak their hearts. I prefer the honesty, and sometimes it’s painful to hear but 100% necessary since a public airing of grievances makes players responsible not just to their teammates but also the fans.

Start at 1:45. Vieira needs to stop fucking these with twats. Intern, please relay to the rest of the front office to give me a pass to be by the tunnel for our game vs. Red Bull. When I fucked with Felipe we won 2-0. I can do it again to another Red Bull.

That's such a bad job by Vieira. Task at hand, man. Those two clowns -- and they are clowns -- are in his head, which is patently ridiculous for a player/manager of his stature.

I just think it's interesting that it is okay for Ring to call out a teammate, but it's not okay that Villa was upset about getting subbed out and/or performance in the the game. Villa is the captain, but Ring is an alternate captain, and someone who I would consider a leader on the team. Would you have been okay with Villa calling out a teammate?

I have no problem with what Ring said. We always complain when players give vanilla quotes, we should be happy he decided to be honest. Can't have it both ways.

If the player made the same showboating mistakes on the field that he’s made for 4 seasons and then disrespected the coach when subbed and subsequently pouted on the bench while holding the senior-leadership position of the entire roster, then yeah, I’d be fine for Villa to call that player out.

No one was good, but Ben Sweat lost that match. Each of the first three goals was from his side and due to his lack of challenge (and effort). Our roster is improved, but between Sweat's ineptitude on defense and Matarrita's health, we could use a left back.

The game was terrible, but the team is still in good position long term, with a large run of home matches soon. Losing to Jersey still burns.
Been Sweat is, has been, always will be a half assed attempt at any position he plays. He has no heart. No guts. And he sure as shit has no effort .he is CBA. JUST LIKE I SAID.

Your rationale rings hollow. Sweat didn’t cause any of those goal - guys more talented than him failed in their roles and they’re the ones that are supposed to carry the load - and these guys are the ones that were direct causes of the goals by blowing offside trap and giving the ball directly to the opposition or not marking in the 6yard box.

To blame Sweat for the loss is similar to blaming a salesman that can’t sell a product that is inherently flawed - it’s on the developers, not the sales force.
Been Sweat is fucking dog shit .If you can't see that, you are equally dog shit .

Literally, all of your excuses for him center on the fact that he is shit, everyone knows he's shit, so feel they should cover for him.

Dude, he's a shit player. Costs us goals weekly. He needs to be a deep, deep bench option because he's a no talent ass clown .

The only thing I posted were the facts of his transfer. I agree that it doesn't make sense with our roster at the time, but 300k is something a team should be able to manipulate even with the less tam at the time. Money is not the reason we didn't sign Cole.

Go to bed Midas. I’ll give you a pass on the possibility you’re a horrible drunk, but if you’re not, and you’re really just a belligerent and miserable person, I wish you well and maybe one day you’ll realize you’re no better than the people you constantly insult.

Nope. I’m giving you a pass at being a dog shit evaluator of talent. Because you think Sweat is decent.

You’re the fuckup here. Not me.

An Arsenal fan on Big soccer pm'd me the other day asking for my opinion on what PV's weaknesses are. I told him that he is too often outcoached, especially in bigger games.
I won't add to what you said . Your much more informed . But for me I still get PTSD from people saying Its Pirlo's fault !

I love the fact there is literally no objective criticism of my points.

Well done, pecker weeds. Well damn done.

ETA: yes, I’m pissed off our team looked gutless, bald scrotumed dickheads. And I blame our manager and his pisspoor tactics and lineup decisions.

I love Ulrich Ulrich (despite his ill conceived love for sweat) and LionNYC LionNYC (despite his ill conceived self imposed twitter mandate of retweeting things as though they were original)

The important thing to recognize is Ben Swear (yeah, I know) doesn’t deserve and cannot be a starter for a team intent on competing for trophies in MLS.
