2021 Roster Discussion

is gloster not really an option? is he that bad?
I'm curious as to how he is in training.

He's come on in just a few spots this season (at RB both times) and looked decent IMO. Granted, it was only 7 total minutes, so incredibly small sample size, but I feel like he's shown enough to perhaps get at least some time at LB.

But again, need to consider that small sample size and we really don't know how he's showing in training.

Part 1: Ronny sounding like Ted Lasso

Part 2: Who? Who? Who?

ring i assume. when he retired from the NT i could of sworn i read tweets that alluded that teammates were not really upset at his retirement. his style is upfront but i guess its how he delivers his message that can rub people the wrong way.

EDIT: whenever we play austin, ring is really gonna go all out after reading this.

I'm guessing RIng for sure. That's been hinted before. If anyone else maybe Mitrita but maybe not anyone else. I can't imagine it's GMS or Matarrita.

mitri seems to have had problems in saudi arabia too with coaching staff though, not so much with teammates. this is based on those translated tweets from fans.

we really needed that US open cup to happen, these guys would definitely get a game or two.

Was unable to make the pregame presser earlier today and that was exactly what I was planning on asking about. Will Haak be loaned out (and maybe Gloster too)

the only thing is i wish they did it from start of season like torres. it really felt like he was waaaay down the depth chart so it made sense. i guess the uncertainty if the us open cup was happening plus leagues cup. thats why they kept him.

Was listening to Soccer in the City this morning (recorded last week) and Crooks said latest on Heber after speaking with Deila was that he wasn’t cleared for contact training after his most recent doctor follow-up

if thats true hes not coming back until playoffs maybe, and even then his fitness will be way off.

I think the club is very high on Haak. Not high enough to have him get major minutes, but enough to want to keep him around the first team so he gets that experience from high level players. Yes, getting regular minutes at a USL club is great, but the experience and advice from top level players and coaches is invaluable too. I'm glad he's getting loaned out now and hoping he can get higher up the depth chart for us next year or a perm loan at NYCFC2

that's sad news. Seems like he is having a followup every week to see if he's approved for contact training. I am ok with them being extra cautious so he doesn't reinjure it considering he's getting older. He's at least training on his own, so hopefully his cardio fitness won't be too far off. He'll just need to find that rhythm and match speed form again. If he returns for 15-20 mins in the playoffs and scores some goals, i'm definitely ok with that!

hes 19 ( about to be 20) not 17. he needs minutes, just being coached is not enough. a nycfc 2 will surely help in similar situations moving forward.

Ring and Deila Hs issues from the get go don’t know about Mata.
Hartford has been working on this loan for MONTHS.

He's never made an MLS appearance this season. How many bench appearances has Haak even made? Why would it take months to agree to send Haak out to Hartford?

leagues cup? If we made it next round he may have gotten a min or two or just have someone to fill bench.
