- Says Magno is right-footed and can play left wing (which is where we see him) and striker.
- Still very raw - it may take a while to see the full upside from this signing.
- European teams were sniffing around last year for a lot more than we are paying.
- His Club was relegated, and they had to sell him, and once that was clear, Europe was closed. NYCFC moved quickly to take advantage.
- Magno is a DP because his salary is above the league max, which is the most a U-22 player can get.
- We have two U-22 players - Thiago Andrade and Cacha Acevedo, with the later being grandfathered in this year.
- Lee thinks we are going to sign another U-22 player before this window closes.
- Lee thinks we are going to sign a third DP in the second transfer window (basically, July).

If we sign another U22 ( which im assuming the target is Santi) then the DP will also have to be youngish correct? you cant get a third DP older than i think 28 or else we lose a U22 spot? The whole U22 is confusing as hell.
I think Talles would be the 3rd DP and he fits that bill age-wise.

Not necessarily. He might still be a DP but will be bought down when we sign the new one in the summer window. But I don't think we know.
I think Sam Stejskal is confirming that Medina is not a DP in this tweet here. Though I guess it could just be confirmation that the 3rd spot is "open".
ETA: He's also just saying that Lee said this last year, so could be along the lines of confirming that the spot is available and Medina could end up not being a DP.
Yeah, I'm not really arguing either way. But I have to take a skeptic's POV and consider that Lee might not speak precisely and Sam might hear what Lee generally communicated rather than the specifics. Especially because the MLS Roster page has added Magno (so they're keeping up with some changes) but they have not altered Medina's status. It could turn out the roster page has just botched the Medina status, and we might never know unless Medina's status on that page changes roughly simultaneous with the summer DP signing. I really don't have a position, except my position is we can't be sure.
It also doesn't matter -- if Lee says in so many words we have or can have a spot open and intend to use it, I'm not sure I care, which you'll be surprised to read as I've seemed to be obsessed with it until now.

Magno could be filling Mitrita spot and Medina will relinquish his DP status when/if necessary.
bingo. They’ll buy him down when they need to. Does he makemore than $600k? If so, then it would make sense that he’s a DP for cap charge purposes at the moment.
isn't that old news? or is it happening again?

That article seems to imply that his visa won't be a holdup and that he could be available for the LAFC game.
We went from having no attackers to having too damn many if treats comes back
