2024 Roster and Transfer Discussion Thread

We had an earlier discussion of which big name player could we sign to make a splash in 2027. Gio Reyna and Jack Harrison would do very nicely, although either would be a big lift.

Harrison turns 28 today. He will be 30 when the stadium opens, turning 31 later that year.

Watching Callens play for Peru got me thinking. Who will be our first player to go abroad for a substantial amount of time (Sands year at rangers doesn't count) and then return to NYCFC to finish their career. Will we see a Taty or Harrison return at some point towards the later part of their careers?

My sense is most MLS players who go elsewhere and return end up on a different MLS team, unless it was a loan that was meant to be a sale, but didn't work out (eg Sands, Morris).

IIUC, it’s a $6M offer plus half of a potential sell-on. I believe we paid $5M. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in 1.5 seasons.
I think you do it, assuming it’s real and not a Palmeiras “can we pay over time” deal.
