I wonder if he is even fireable in-season under any circumstance.
I’m sure last place would be for cause. The question is how much higher in the standings would also constitute cause.

The question of what is fireable and what will cause him to be fired are two very different questions. What is fireable? I think a start of, say, 3-6-2. What will get him fired? Probably nothing that happens during the season.

We set a fairly clear precedent with Kreis. I think if it becomes apparent there is zero chance of us making the playoffs then we are firing the manager. Thing is with MLS being MLS, it would take a spectacularly bad year for that to become obvious before the final few weeks of the season.
Well, Matt Doyle said we had 0 percent chance of making the playoffs in 2016 during our first run of matches.

I hate the situation we’re in now with Dome, but Jose is not the solution. I just suffered through his arrogance that rotted out my other club, and his presence at NYCFC would be stage 4 cancer. And any semblance of attacking soccer would be shelved for militant midfielders that hack/slash their way to protecting the bunkered backline.
We would suck. But we would be the talk of the town.
I’m only half kidding because I’m afraid we already suck and we just don’t know it yet.
