I don't wanna be a boomer but I'll give up rainbow flicks IF the kid is good so that he stays healthy.

interesting stat:

"Though NYCFC don’t get as much credit for their attacking play under Ronny Deila as they did under Patrick Vieira and Dome Torrent, Deila lets his team go to work in the attacking half. No team in the Eastern Conference spends as much of their time in the attacking phase as NYCFC’s 10.29%."

makes it all the worse then that we don’t have a top end goal scorer on the team.

we have the 2nd best goal differential in the league. yes that has a lot to do with our defense and yes blowing out FCC helps with that. but we are scoring enough. and we just added two new attackers who will need time to assimilate and adjust to the league, team, etc.

i think signing a proven goal scorer would have been good for us, but i'm not against doing what we're doing either. higuain got shut out vs DC this past weekend. there are 2 other "proven" players on miami's team too, yet they got blown out... by DC. Having a "goal scorer" signing doesn't guarantee goals.

We are spreading out the goal scoring load, which I think is better than relying on a single player. Having more threats on the field means we are more difficult to defend and ultimately, more goals will be scored. We just boosted our attacking ranks and will need some time to get to full power.

This particular stat shows that we are attacking and not just passing around the back (which we did a lot of in the past) and that's a good thing. We just need to develop some attacking chemistry with our new players and the goals will come. also - if Maxi can actually regain some of his 2019 form because he's been terrible.

The list of strikers that have currently scored more than our striker:
  • Chicharito
  • Ruidiaz
  • Pulido
That's it. Medina is ahead of Taty as well and I'm not including him here.

If we lack a proven scorer, than so do at least 24 other teams. I think this is another one of those things that fans of nearly every team think is an issue that their team has compared to others.

ETA: Both Pulido and Ruidiaz have played one extra game than Taty has.

Kind of disengenuous to count the FCC game.
Did the FCC game count towards the standings?

Should the Golden Boot standings have a curve that takes away goals in certain games.

You seem dedicated to taking the contrary position, on everything, as of late. Was this forum getting too boring for ya?
