"New York City in forgiving mood over Frank Lampard after academy match"
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/feb/10/new-york-city-frank-lampard-manchester-city

"Kreis, whose team beat St Mirren through goals from David Villa and Tony Taylor, believes the franchise’s supporters will receive Lampard well when he finally joins.

“I think at the end of it all when everybody is calmed down and settled down a little bit that everybody can forgive and forget,” he said."
If I were in a nastier mood I would slam Kreis for not realizing that some folks are mad at him and Reyna for lying to us for 6 months, but I'll let that go.

My other comment is that the UK press seems to call us New York City because they figure "City" is our name but over there that would tend to mean Manchester City, but this leads to confusion as I read that headline to mean that New York City -- meaning the city and its residents -- are in the forgiving mood but what the headline means in NYCFC management.
Just another example of why the club name is ill-thought out and stupid, but I'll move on.

No Kreis, no. Why can't he just not make these comments? I really like him, but this is just irritating. I for one won't forget that they all lied to us, but I'm definitely moving on from it. Just don't treat us like idiots.

Frank Lampard will NOT suffer MLS fan backlash despite Manchester City loan extension

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/s...fer-fan-backlash-nycfc-boss-article-1.2110980

"The 36-year-old former England man will head to the US in the summer and Claudio Reyna thinks supporters will be delighted to see him".

“He was in a difficult situation so he doesn’t deserve any negative backlash and I don’t think he'll get it,” said Reyna.
“I think the fans will be fine. For us, the most important thing is that he's 100 per cent welcomed by the staff and the players.
“They can’t wait to have him, now he’s been around them this week. And I think it's going to be the same with the fans.
“We understand the fans' disappointment, wanting to watch him play from the beginning.
“But he’s coming and he’s very, very committed. He extended his stay at City but he’s coming in July and we’re excited to have him join this team.
“There was a lot made of it. But at the end of the day as a club and as a group we have to remain focussed which we did and look at the long term, look at the whole team.
“It was never the intention for him to stay but he did great, it was extended for another five months, but that shows how good he is and is testimony to what he’s done with City.
“I think we've ridden the wave that we had to deal with. There will certainly be other challenges and we're already looking forward and can’t wait to have him, because he's not only a great player but a great person.”

I love how they keeping pushing the line about how the fans are just disappointed because we wanted to see him sooner

I wonder if he really believes that, or it's just PR talk.
I think they're just determined to ride it out, figuring it's better to pretend you never lied and got caught thanadmit and ask forgiveness. They figure they can do this because we want to like them.
And it will almost certainly work.
Also, I'm with you, I'm ready to move on but then I read some BS answer and get annoyed again.

No idea. Why did he get kicked off Univision? I used to watch republica deportiva with him back in the day.

well he was never "kicked out" but i think his contract was up after the World cup, i think the new offer has him in a less prominent role. Allegedly he didnt like having such a small role during the world cup ( his show was like at midnight or something, he used to be the in studio host for pretty much all the games in previous world cups). so univision was like take it or leave it and he left.

Though to be fair republica deportiva was kinda more of an entertainment show rather than a sports show, at least thats how i thought of it when i saw it.

Couldn't take the show all that seriously con las senadoras:D

Don't know where else to put this, but looks like Mix will be called into USMNT camp in Europe. He'll miss at least March 23-31.

Probably misses Colorado on the 21st and SKC on the 28th.

Then he'll be gone for the Gold Cup.

He should play on the 21st if camp starts the 23rd but Mix will be gone for a long time during the Gold Cup.

I believe the games are the 23rd in Denmark and the 31st in Swirzerland.
