Or he has officially signed for Manchester City and will be loaned out to a club to be determined.
Good point. That is how they often do it. But if that is the case there's no reason he needs to be loaned within CFG. Sometimes they do that, but not always: eg Harrison, Diskerud.

meh, why not? A successful Eye-talian in NYC would be a rock star.

No surprise. Nothing more than paring away another veteran to make room for somebody who excelled on his particular country's U-Something team.

i would agree, but the dude just could not stay healthy and in this cap league with that salary they were not going to keep him.

3rd round pick in the super draft = traded for a bag of practice cones. Too bad they don’t have “future considerations” like in the NHL which is coded for “giving away for nothing”.

Good move to clear $$ off the books.

It would be nice if the team didn't make it so hard to remember that we had already declined his option. We basically received compensation for him signing elsewhere in free agency. San Jose's release about the move said the trade was for "the right of first refusal" and that they subsequently signed him to a one-year contract with an option for 2025.

Good player, but couldn't stay healthy. Rather lose a player a year early than a year late.

To be honest I think with all the playing time he had last year it is a year too late.
