Official Nycfc In The Media Thread 2015

I confess ignorance on this point about the whole intellectual property/UEFA history etc. All I know is what was in the article that Mr Plow posted above and which says:
The second is the sale of City’s services to the other clubs which it owns – the New York FC franchise which it launched last year, along with the new Melbourne Heart franchise and Manchester City Ladies FC. That “sale of intellectual property to related parties” brought the club another £22.45m and is vital to City getting anywhere near complying with Uefa’s regime.
The article could be completely off base, but FWIW it's the source of my info/confusion.

That article is right - the problem is it's almost exactly a year old. In the summer of 2014, as part of the sanctions they levied on MCFC, UEFA stepped in to prevent this from happening again, so MCFC now has no way of financially profiting from any such arrangements. Thus, there would be no purpose to them charging NYCFC to use a sky blue kit.

That must be the pecking order that flashes on the wall of badges.

Sucks for Yokohama F. Marinos :(

Might be time for me to take another break from this team and board for a while. Because all I did while watching that was get annoyed and think of nasty gibes. A couple were even somewhat fair, but I hate how this situation has made a fun thing bitter.

It's the NY Post people.
You can't blame the Post if the club hasn't put out a statement and it hasn't. MC has circulated a statement to the press but put nothing on its website. It appears NYCFC has done neither and is relying on MC's press release. Post is imputing MC's statement to NYC which is fair under the circumstances.
Daily news did the same thing:
