Official Nycfc In The Media Thread 2015

And the least you could do is post the articles directly on here so they don't get the clicks.

Seriously, guys, Soccer Gods is mostly a humor site. They're the Men in Blazers for people who prefer New York media to British.

They do have some really fantastic writers who toe more of an opinion line, but they are heavy into satire and humor.

(Ignore the fact, momentarily, that the MiB are now based out of NYC. Their view is very Euro/England heavy.)
I'm more than happy to provide sanctimonious thought pieces.

Truth be told are they really?
As a fan, we are definitely getting dribs and drabs of information. To compare us to Orlando its not even close. I am not following them, but I get more information about them than us. Have we heard more than two interviews from Kreis about plans for the season? We get more player information from the players tweetering than from the club. They are right to complain about the lack of access. And ultimately it hurts us, the people who actually want info. To see that established media outlets are ready to cover the team, the Post, Daily News, etc, but cannot get answers to questions returned is embarrassing.

The management of the team has been a huge fail.

Yes but NYC could do that through twitter, YouTube and the shows they are getting on YES. Some of the press need to get over themselves.

Every other team, gets a least a few quotes from the coach or team, when they sign a new player. We get a blued out picture and go search wikipedia.

That stuff I won't argue with you NYC gets an F, but I rather NYC use there options and control the message themselves and talk directly to the fans than just talk trough their twitter, website, YouTube channel and programs they will be given on YES network. That will piss off the "Media" more but they are also giving themselves more importance than they should have. Especially in the age of social media when they have a website a YouTube channel and a Network partly owned by one of there owners that NEEDS more programming.

That would be fine if they were putting it out themselves, but they are not doing that either. If they were, I would say screw the media.

The biggest part of the problem is the NYCFC HQ is in another Country. That is straight up stupid.

I know hating on CFG is in vogue, but do you have any evidence to back up that assertion?
Reason I say that is that it's hard to cover a team game to game and give press about them form another country. Also the Instagram pic about the new HQ at CFA

What, the picture saying "Welcome to the new #NYCFC HQ"? That's just the club saying "look, we're based in Manchester for a week!" They could have easily said the exact same thing about Jacksonville when they turned up there. I find it very hard to believe that the club is actively being run from Manchester, especially when they have a whole executive based in New York, and since Tom Glick has been sent over to NYC to run the club.
